So pen station has been my go to sub place for awhile now. But this location (Carlyle ave) is terrible. Do not go. Ill share my experience the last two times I went. First time I’m eating my sandwich I feel a hair in my mouth that’s not mine. Well I had to yank someone’s else’s hair out of my throat. It was pretty gross and pretty big. Next I go cause I’m thinking hey maybe they had a off day. I get a chicken Philly and I eat it. Maybe a hour later I’m running to the bathroom. I got food poisoning. That’s unacceptable. The employees there don’t care. They all have there headphones in including the manager. The person that took my order is on a personal phone call while mid order. The place is dirty and gross. They obviously don’t care about cleanliness or the customer. Like I said before don’t go. One I haven’t ever had a problem with is the pen station in Edwardsville.
I had the Italian sub on whole wheat. It was excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I even got a free cookie.
Friendly staff and the restaurant was clean. Sandwich actually looked like the ones on the posters.
The food is actually really good!! The customer service is the worst. A friend of mine and I were ordering and the guy taking our order was treating us terrible. But when a woman walked in the door treated her with respect as if she was the president.
I tried to call ahead to place an order, but the line was busy after calling like 3 times. I went through the drive thru to place an order being that the phone was down, and I didn't want to come inside. The cashier was rude. I didn't get his name because he didn't have on uniform or a name tag. He was a young white male. He said I had to come inside, asked another worker oh did we turn the phones off....he didn't apologize or show any empathy. I said what if I had covid would you want me to come inside...he then replied "I don't care, I won't get it." He was so unprofessional! Worst experience. I watched my food being made, nervous that they would spit in it, instead they made my sandwich SUPER SALTY.
This was a pretty good place. The bread they use is so good. But what was my favorite was there fries. Staff was very nice.
Didn't have a good experience there...I pulled up around 8ish seeing a guy having his arms crossed looking mad that I was even gonna come in there and the whole time just kept telling about stuff. Then got mad bc didn't have something to put on my sandwich or something but either way they close at 10 and be happy you have a job and customers are buying. Funny thing is more customers came in afterwards so not sure why he was so mad but I guess we all have bad days. I give 3 stars bc I love their sandwiches
I called an order in for drive through on Nov 9, 2021 approximately at 4:19pm for a 12 inch grilled Italian sub on multi grain bread and a small fry. I specifically asked for no peppers and no onions. My husband brought the sandwich home and I was asleep because I didn't feel well. When I woke up and decided to eat my sandwich, it was full of onions, I'm allergic to onions. Manager was rude and said I couldn't get free food.
Consistent quality food at this location.
