I didn't want to do this review because I typically try to not review bad experiences. However I felt I needed to do it because this place is high rated and I dont think they deserve it. It used to be a school. The atmosphere is amazing. It's un like any other run of the mill restaurant. I give it a 10 out 10 for atmosphere. Heads up you may have to park across the street as it is downtown I was fortunate enough to get a space in front. We were greeted and some time passed as the staff seemed confused. We were seated and our waitress was super friendly. We got apps. The toasted ravioli is embarrassing. For an Italian restaurant in the saint louis area to serve frozen toasted ravioli. Is just disgusting. The table next to us sent theirs back. The garlic bread was bread with cheese. No garlic. The wings were good but my daughter asked for buffalo dipping sauce and got ranch. The salads portion is very generous. One salad is good for 3 people. The amount of toppings on the pizzas was very generous as well. Although I had to get up from my table and walk to the wait station to get a jar of parmesan cheese. All of our drinks ran beyond empty and I was on the verge of going to the drink station to refill them myself. After coming home and looking at reviews the issues i experienced seemed common place. This wasn't an employee shortage issue. This is a training issue. I'd like to think a business that's been around this long would have mastered its craft. If this was your first year or even third I would given you second chance. But my family will not be returning.
Great calzone and great service. A+
Their pizzas are always good and at a reasonable price. I eat here pretty often and they never disappoint. Thank you Papa Vito's for your prompt service and delicious pizza, much appreciated!!
Sooooo good that I forgot to take a picture. The salad is big enough to feed 4 people. We ordered 2 for 4 people and shouldn't have. The pizza is thin crust, like St. Louis style. This is a pic of my calzone from the next day. It was so hugh I only ate half. (I'm 260 lbs) Wear your stretchy pants.
My family loves this place. Their pizza is fantastic. My daughter loves the toasted ravioli. It's never too crowded and worth the stop! We wish they delivered, but we'll survive. Still worth the trip.
Good crust, too many toppings (ended up being mildly undercooked peppers because there was too much stuff on top), great sauce, very nice staff
Cool location ,awesome building ! Doesn't look like it should be a pizza place as much as it should be maybe a mystery theater or something like that. Good place to come with the family or on a date. Reasonable prices as well. Was in walking distance from an apt I had years ago so I visited frequently.
Food was great. Service was excellent. We had a large party and they got us in quickly.
My expectations are always low on a restaurant that's new to me, especially take-out, but this was a superior experience. The pizza was great, the stuffed cheesy bread was essentially a deep-dish pizza - meat, tomatoes, sauce and not over-cooked, really great. The Philly Cheese Sandwich was enough for two and plenty of meat. Last, the toasted raviolis were expertly cooked and seasoned. And the portions were huge! I really could not be happier. Other restaurants should order from here once just to learn how take-out is done!
In my opinion the top three items on their menu are the Baked / Fried Chicken Wings, the Chef Salad, with house dressing and their meat pizza. We always order these three item when we go their. All three items have been consistently great.
