We love small cakes!❗ This time we used these cupcakes to celebrate a birthday instead of a cake. It worked out perfectly❣️
The cupcakes are good and presented in a pretty box. They are not cheap, but if you are looking for a special occasion or treat these will do well
$4 a cupcake is hefttyyyy. The cupcakes are insanely cute but the sundae cupcake was lacking in chocolate flavor (You'd think a cupcake shop could make a good, decadent chocolate flavored cupcake). Same with the lemon cupcake with lemon icing, it quite literally tasted like a vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing and the tiniest bit of lemon flavor if you convinced yourself so. Not impressed with the flavor profiles
For anyone seeking employment here I don't recommend it. There's a reason the owner has lost 5 employees in a 4 month time span and can't keep a manager in there. The owner is highly unprofessional, things are constantly breaking that he does nothing about and he sets the team up for failure then blames them for it. He makes scheduling mistakes and then tries to force people to work shifts they can't work or tries to make them feel guilty for it. The owner does not treat his staff with respect and it's constant chaos.As a response to the reply, there is a difference between lying and someone not accepting the truth but have fun with that. There's a reason you have lost 11 employees in 4 months across your stores. THAT IS A FACT. 1 store has only 1 employee left. That is also a fact. Only a disgruntled employee who was fired would need to make up lies. I quit my job because of how unprofessional it is there. Any ways, have fun overcharging people Sal.
No gluten-free options except for on certain days. From what the girl said not even their gelato is gluten free!! Even if I wasn't a celiac I most certainly wouldn't want to eat their vanilla bean gelato if it has wheat in it.
They're okay. The cupcakes look exactly like the picture and the cake itself tastes good, but they put too much frosting on there for my taste. I wouldn't mind it if the frosting was flavorful but the buttercream on the different cupcakes all just taste like sugar. The cream cheese type is better.I wouldn't get them again but that's just my preference I think.
My fiancé and I reached out in early December to inquire about having Smallcakes cater desserts for our upcoming wedding. We spent an extended amount of time communicating with a representative about what we were looking for and what Smallcakes could offer. We answered all of their questions. When we had questions, we were frequently told that they needed to check with the owner/bakers and that we hear back the following day. Every time, it frequently took days or up to a week to hear back. We also inquired about having Smallcakes make cupcakes for our son’s birthday. We again communicated back and forth for long periods of time before not hearing back. Eventually, we reached out to express our frustration. We were given a response that the business closed for a week following the holidays due to to overwhelming amount of orders they received over the holidays. While we understand that the holidays are a busy time for all and that the pandemic has caused staffing shortages for many businesses, this in no way makes up for the frequent delays and poor communication. Any delays or closures should have been clearly communicated with any existing customers. We were also told that they would not be able to complete the order for the cupcakes due to not having a weekend cupcake decorator. If so, why did they indicate that they would be able to fulfill the order and ask us numerous questions about what we were looking for? This is extremely unprofessional. We are extremely unhappy with the lack of professionalism and communication from this business!

They did a fantastic job on my wife’s 60th birthday cake. Ordered a double tiered round vanilla cake with chocolate frosting and custom message. Also 6 cupcakes. She is into metal detecting and rock hounding hence the message.Very moist and delicious. The cake was enough for about 15 people with good sized portions. Very well packaged any I appreciate the confirmation email to check for spelling etc.These folks don’t do high end fancy or massive cakes but for what they do they do extremely well. Very reasonably price. Actually was about 1/2 the cost of one of the local custom shop. Though admittedly their cake was larger.You can trust these folks with your special occasion. ??
Old cupcakes and generally smaller than location in Naperville. Last three times they ran out of everything except weird flavors. Will only be getting cupcakes from smallcakes in Naperville especially because the girl had no gloves and 5 inch nails.
