I wanted to love this place, but it was a flop!! The staff was incredibly nice and there was live music so that was nice. The downfall was the food. The drinks were weak, the food was lacking in flavor and everything was dry. The hunt for great tacos continues
Great food and drinks. For the past 4/5 years me and my friend have our yearly lunch here. We eat, drink and talk for hours.
Food was average. Service started off good then our waitress completely forgot about us. Took a long time for drink refills and even longer to get someone’s attention to bring us our bill. A 36% tip was automatically added to our bill for a party of 4.
Yesterday Feb 10th I went to the restaurant to order a gallon of Pozole to go. Customer service was 5 stars however when I went to serve it for dinner out of a gallon of pozole there was exactly 5 small and I mean small (like under 2 inch) pieces of meat all the rest was hominy and liquid. So basically I paid 30 bucks for hominy and juice that's it. Tried to contact the restaurant but no one picked up the phone quite possibly could have been close to closing time. Either way I will not buy Pozole from them again. I will find another restaurant to buy from, again customer service was excellent but the food not so good at all. Very disappointing
Fantastic spot if you are in the area. One of the best Mexican food places in the city.Went with the whole catfish this visit and it was way better than I expected.
The al pastor tacos were terrific, and I enjoyed the frozen house margarita. My wife and mother-in-law love the pozole and said it's the best around. Make sure and show up early because when it is out, that's it for a day.
Food took longer than others who ordered after us. Great guacamole n chips 8.50$ got 2 orders still high for that dish from other places . Steak burrito was all chewy meat.
Let me start by saying this was my favorite restaurant as a child. My family came here once a month religiously.I'm very upset to relay this experience.Waitress was just gone. Brought things we said no to like more chips and an extra glass, forgot important things like water and napkins. The beans were already hardening when they brought it out to us, and the rice was clumping up. The oil used was so old I could literally smell the stale oil on the tortillas.I found a piece of plastic in my taco, and all they said was 'well im sorry'...They refused to take it off the bill.
Took about 35 minutes to get our food. A party of four. When our food got to our table, I noticed one of the items was wrong. I wanted to make sure and asked the person in my party, and the person confirmed they had gotten the wrong thing, the server quickly chimed to say “no, that is what you ordered”, seriously? Our entire table agreed on what had been ordered but the server knew better apparently. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer, I think they mix bad avocados with good avocados as the guacamole, supposedly made fresh, was turning brown by the time it reached our table. The tortilla chips could be used as a hammer, they were warm yet super hard. I ordered a tampiqueña and it was one of the worst I’ve had. It was way over seasoned, extremely salty, and waaaay over cooked when I had asked for medium temperature, although to be fair it was probably a good thing that it was cooked too much as the steak tasted pretty bad and not sure how fresh it was. Beans were completely unseasoned and the rice was hands down some of the worst rice I’ve had, mushy, flavorless yet with a bad after taste. The only thing at this restaurant that met the expectations was the canned coke I had with my “meal”.
Bad sevice. And to slow 8 minutos for one coffee. 32 minutos for one posole. So what is t this.. I need pay more just let me know.
