Title says it all these are simply the best tacos in Mexico city. Always the first place we go after checking in and will not be the only time we go. DO NOT let the long lines at lunch put you off bc they are worth the wait. Eat in or grab a take away and find a spot to sit down and enjoy. Five tacos and drink is the way to go.
We were so curious and excited to try tacos de canasta but I must say they didn't live up to the expectations. We tried the chicharrón en adobo and refried bean tacos. The bean tacos were my favorite but overall they were just underwhelming.
Around road from Zocalo is place it came recommended by food bloggers and there is queues , currently you eat standing, there is chicarron, Adobe and beans, i tried all, its inexpensive but not my type of tacos

Canasta tacos are tacos all of a similar fill (chicken, pork, black bean, whatever) all stacked in a basket so all of their grease/juice/flavor drain all over each other. They are dirty good. The way it works is you tell the guy at the front of the line how many tacos you want, and if you want a drink. Then you pay and he gives you chips, which you then hand off along the way as you pick your tacos and drink at the end.
