Tonight we tried Porky’s BBQ. It is by far the best bbq place we’ve gone to in IL. The meat is top quality and the smokey flavor was done to perfection. Though they have an excellent variety of homemade sauces you could eat the ribs and smoked wings without it. All the sides were tasty and homemade too. We’ll definitely be going back and highly recommend them and you’ll love the experience with their family style type staff.
very friendly, brought our puppy, and they brought out a bowl of water. Came in close to closing, expecting to see almost everything sold out. it was not. only a few things. ordered pastrami, brisket, and pulled pork. 'bama white was excellent. my wife was surprised, as she has never had it. sauce was NOT needed as the flavor of the meat was excellent.
I was not happy when I left Porky's.Having ordered online ahead of my visit, I was looking forward a nice BBQ dinner. On arrival, I let them know my name and watched for the next 20+ minutes as patrons came and went, most having also ordered in advance. Finally, the (presumably) high school kid picked up a bag out of the warmer and said my name. (Audible grumble) I had actually asked him earlier, as well, if my order was ready and he ignored me.With that unpleasantness out of the way....I ordered a brisket sandwich topped with coleslaw, mac-n-cheese, and some beer-battered cheese curds. Despite having sat in a warmer for at least 20 minutes. It was all delicious. Really outstanding. Well, the curds were okay but probably would have been better with 30 seconds in my microwave. I had the spicy sauce. With some sweetness and combined with the coleslaw topping, it was great.I will likely order the exact same thing next time around.
Ordered delivery. Pleasantly surprised! Ordered the ribs and mac & cheese. Both were more than I expected. Not sure why I got the mac & cheese since it's not my favorite thing. I seriously enjoyed it. Again, pleasantly surprised. Reasonably priced. Will definitely order from them again.
Like to try bbq every time we travel. Brisket pulled pork. And sausage were as good as anywhere we have been . Rib were good a little dry but good. Chicken not my favorite but it got eaten. Their cornbread was different for sure. Not sure how to discribe very dense. My wife liked it. Mac and cheese and beans were very good. We e we would go back for sure.They were very busy and phone never stopped ringing. Seating if very limited
Porky's is a simple BBQ place with limited seating but awesome food. The pork and brisket combo sandwich was outstanding. Only disappointment is that we went there for lunch... would have loved to gone for dinner and ordered the ribs!
I went there and was hoping it would be good. To be on the expensive side for a tiny little take-out. I could not imagine someone able to eat lunch there every day based on cost. I'm a huge fan of coleslaw. My wife went some food home and some extra slaw. When I started to eat the first fork full, it smelled funny (spoiler)? I still tried was not going to eat a second spoiled slaw, and others made with mayonnaise, etc., are famous for spoiling if not stored properly. When my wife called, the woman took personal offense, I think she was the owner, and her husband was in the back. Her reply is that's how we make our slaw. We wanted to bring back one forkful less. She said no, there was nothing wrong. Shocked they are still there. I live seven blocks away, and a company four blocks away, she will never get my money or company money.
Awesome barbecue the Alabama white horse radish is amazing and I can't decide if I like pulled pork or brisket better great food
Catered with Porky’s for Mother’s Day celebration. We are outside their delivery zone so sent the hubby to pickup. When he got back I noticed that there was missing coleslaw but no big deal. A few minutes later I got a call from them that they forgot to pack it and said they would send it up right away. I insisted it wasn’t a big deal but they also insisted it was and that they were going to make it right. They sent it right away via delivery. Their customer service is just so on point that we’ll definitely be repeat customers… and I mean the food was great too so that helps! :)
Excellent barbecue! If you like BBQ you need to eat here. We had pulled pork, beans and two sauces everything is homemade. Give it a try and support a local business!
