Tasty sandwich. First time visiting so i got a dog too. Sandwich was bussin. I’ll skip the dog next time though.
Always shop here for Italian beef. There literally is NO other Italian beef that should ever enter your body. Shopping here at least 16yrs(original North Ave) , NEVER disappointed, always so deliciously delectable, I always get Xtra for the family and take an extra for a new. The service is impeccable, and accurate, quick and friendly.
A hidden gem in that it could be on a t.v. show featuring local dives that are a favorite locally. I disagree with the reviews that say the crowd is that of tourists. My experience there is that the crowd includes locals and the hardworking construction crews working in the area. I ate the combo sandwich which is more like a hotdog with beef added to it. I chose to have it plain though peppers come with it. Too much of a Midwestern bland flavor guy. The meat is not bland, however, the Italian dog is reddish orange and spicy but not too spicy for even a spice wuss like me. I give the ace a 4 only because it could be renovated better inside, small menue, parking lot is kinda crazy, and the bun to my sandwich just got a little soggy or stale....though overall taste was good. I may go back just for the italian lemon ice as it was sooooo good on a hot day, get the large size it's worth it. I might even sit on the outdoor patio which has a roof over in case it rains.
Johnnie's Beef is absolutely amazing. A Chicago original, this place serves Sausages, Hot Dogs, and Italian Beefs. These are the restaurant's staples and they do not change the menu or recipes. The fries that they have are super skinny and when they are fresh out the fryer, they are amazing. I personally love them and sometimes I will go out my way if I crave the. They are so different from other fast food places. If they have been sitting however, they then taste like you typical soggy fry.The prices are absolutely amazing! Before Covid the Hot Dog Combo was $3 and the Italian Beef was $4. Now the Hot Dog Combo is $4 and the Italian Beef was close to $7 (I was there yesterday, lol). I personally like the hot dogs...I love hot dogs! Johnnie's Hot Dogs are literally beef! Like, they do not taste like those other hot dogs...I even think they are better than Portillo's Hot Dogs!This particular Johnnie's location is on the corner of Arlington Heights Road and Golf Road intersection. It is a small shop with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very nice and friendly. The service is super fast (unless it's busy/peak time) and the food is always hot when you get it. It's fun to be there because when you pay, the cashier kinda just yells your order to the employees standing in the kitchen behind you and it's like Portillo's coding for their menu items. Lol, so like you would hear "Double, hot". This could be a hot dog with two wieners on one bun with hot peppers! LolBut, overall I recommend Johnnie's! If you are in the area, definitely check it out! Plus, they were on Food Network. ; )
The food at Jonnie's is abundant and very delicious. Regardless of the amount of people waiting in line, your orders are taken and prepared quickly. When you think about having a very tasty, delicious sandwich, Johnnie's should be your destination. The number of miles you have to drive should be irrelevant because you will be rewarded when you enjoy any meal you choose.
Not as good as the North avenue location but better than most of the area.
If you are nearby or planning to visit this area of Arlington Heights, you must visit this Johnnie’s Beef for some quality and unique sandwiches they have. This place is run so efficiently. Their place is so huge, clean, neat, nice, bright, decent, and well-maintained. You will be absolutely surprised by the great atmosphere inside the place. The whole place is so enjoyable and welcoming. The menu of this restaurant is so big, they have a huge selection, and a large variety to choose from. They have sandwiches, fries, pasta, desserts, beverages, and also beef selection that is so incredibly delicious. Such a really great place for a quick bite. Their Italian beef is so fresh, perfectly prepared, and fantastic. Their fries are so crispy, flavorful, and on point. Their sandwiches are phenomenal and lots of people really love it and keep coming back just to grab some of it. Johnnie’s Beef is really a hidden gem in this area. The only issue I’ve seen is the long lines and some staff that is not paying attention to some customers. But still, this place is really amazing! Their staff is still extremely fast and got the orders correct. I am really impressed by the food at this spot. I really love the ambiance of their interior. The best beefs in the state. And don’t even get me started on the Italian ice on those hot summer nights. Doesn’t get better then this.Only wish they would have some melted cheese

You cannot really go wrong in here. The fast food I love to visit whenever I wanted some really quick and good bite. Portillo's is a great fast food and this fast food is definitely as great as Portillo's. I really love this place. I went in here recently and as expected and as usual it is a bit packed but their staffs are so efficient in here making everything as easy as a pie. There was a line but I was able to order in a quick and my food was ready in a quick too. The staffs are efficient and they are also friendly, helpful and definitely fast. The fast food has a wide different food option on their menu but I would not get tired ordering their beef sandwich. Those beef sandwich that are perfect in size with a huge portion of juicy and flavorful beef and of course, some kick with its giardiniera peppers. I just totally love it. It is so good and I could get it seriously fast and it is so cheap!
