Delicious and complementary service!
The atmosphere and vibe are pretty nice and cozy. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I do not go here a lot, so it was still kind of new to me when I visited this restaurant just recently. I was with my family and they ordered a lot. The service is good. There is a little wait, but not for a long time. When the food was served, I literally felt hungry at that moment because the food looked really delicious. We got a lot of food, and I do not really know where to start. Their chips and salsa were fine, and I liked the salsa. The quesadillas were huge and delicious. I also ate tacos, and they were the best that I had based on all of the food that I ate. The tacos, like the quesadilla, are huge, the meat is generously portioned, and everything is flavorful and delicious to the point where I can't get enough of it. The food was really good. Of course, we also got drinks, and mine was a margarita. Like the food, their drinks also taste great. It was just a good day for my family, and we really did enjoy the food and the overall experience we had at this restaurant. I will definitely be back. An authentic Mexican restaurant that comes highly recommended.
Absolutely amazing Mexican food. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I usually order delivery through ubereats. The last time I ordered I asked for a medium rare steak, it was disgustingly overcooked. Right after this I've noticed they are not accepting online delivery orders anymore. Also in the past 3 months or so I've ordered multiple times, same dish every time. The rate of inconsistency among the quality was alarming when I'm paying so much for a plate. This is a high end Mexican restaurant, please keep your standards high and quality on point. Salsa tastes different almost every time, steak wasn't cooked the same everytime, and the guacamole was extremely inconsistent. Either way too much citrus or just straight avocado.
I used to eat here back in the 1980s and '90s then it changed names. I thought my favorite dish was gone forever but it's not. I went there Saturday and found out they still have it but it's advertised differently. shredded beef burrito suizo ! I have searched for 15 years and nobody makes it like Javier's !
The food was excellent. We had a wonderful time out with family.

This is a copy of an email being sent to the administrative staff of Adlington Hts. I am a 79 year old senior and a resident of Palatine who frequently patronizes your downtown restaurants. I am writing this to you today to complain about the week day parking regulations in Arlington Heights around the near down town area during the day. On a cold Wednesday, February 16,2022, I was meeting a friend for lunch at Javier’s Mexican restaurant. Because of the cold I chose to park as close as I could to restaurant so I didn’t have to walk far. I chose to park a block away from the restaurant on Dutton Street, which has a 2-hour limit during the daytime. I walked to the restaurant and was immediately seated at 12:04PM, as the receipt indicates (see attachment). I knew I had a 2-hour limit for parking so I tried to keep track of the time. Unfortunately the waiter was a little busy and was slow in getting me the check at 2:01PM. Now the walk from my car to the restaurant and getting seated could not have taken more that 4-5 minutes and paying the bill and the walk back to the car another 7-8 minutes so the total time I was parked was no more than 2 hours and 13 minutes. That means the officer who wrote the ticket (see attachment) must have been waiting for me to park my car and immediately marked it along with a line of others on the same block . Do the local businesses know about and support this action by the Village? This is penalizing people who frequent your local restaurants and is further hurting their already decreased business due to Covid 19 restrictions It’s understandable, that being near the train station you don’t want people parking there all day, but the short term parking limit really penalizes your business and restaurant participants. Don’t you think there should be some leniency regarding these time limits for that reason? If its revenue the city is looking for, how about putting the traffic patrol on alert and writing tickets for many drivers exceeding the speed limits? I went to the Administrative Adjudication Meeting on March 8th, and pled my case to no avail, so I wound up putting $25 in you city coffers. Turned out to be quite an expensive lunch for a senior on a fixed income. For this reason I nor any of my close friends will not be patronizing your local restaurants any time soon.
Javier's continues to offer solid Mexican favorites in American sized portions at a reasonable price. The mixed drinks are excellent as are the kid-friendly drinks (smoothies and Jaritos soda among others). Their selection of tequila is broad and a must try.
This restaurant is great. The service is always on point and the food is great but there is a lot of competition in the area south of rt. 14 like Salsa 17 and Mago which in my opinion is better. Still a solid restaurant
Great food, drinks & service!
