We had a catering order from El Fuego's for a family get-together on May 15th 2022. I ordered the taco bar. I ordered two pans of the steak, one of which was the fiesta which included a pan of rice and a pan of beans, one pan of the pork, one pan of guacamole, 1/4 pan of pico de gallo, and 8 burritos that were cut in half. We picked it up because there was no drivers caused by Staffing shortage which we were happy to do. Let me tell you El Fuego's knocked it out of the park! The food was so fresh and so good. I had never used El Fuego before but I did check out their reviews, and I don't know how this place could ever receive anything less than five stars! Everyone absolutely loved the food, and I even had a couple of grade school age grandchildren that normally would not touch this stuff and even they let me know how much they enjoyed this stuff and how they didn't think they would LOL. I will definitely be using them again and recommending their services because they were awesome!
I placed an online $65 Taco Pan order for a 10:30 am pickup. When I walked in and went to the counter there was a girl (Joslyn) standing there on her phone. She did not even look up to acknowledge me until I said hello. I told her I was there for my order. She looked at a sheet that was pinned to a board on the wall, then she removed a sheet of paper off of it and proceeded to roll her eyes as if annoyed as she walked toward the back by the cooking area. Mine you, she never said a word to me this entire time. Then I heard her on the phone with someone telling them she had never done this before. I heard that person telling her what to do and then I saw the cook preparing the steak on the grill for my tacos. So, they were just starting to prepare my order right then instead of it being ready at 10:30 when I arrived at 10:25. It was 10:50 by the time my order was finally done. Never received an apology or a thank you.Food is good...service not so. Definitely need to work on customer service skills as this was not acceptable.
We have used this place twice now to cater our parties. $200 to feed 20+ people and the food is fabulous. Plus they never forget to give us tons of toppings. Absolutely recommend this place to everyone!!!
Will NEVER come back here again! Salsas are not flavorful. Worst taco place! Not worth the $2.99 per taco they charge. You get 2 tortillas very little meat full of onion and cilantro. Do not come spend your hard earned money here! This is more like a vegetable taco sprinkled with meat. Should’ve asked for my money back!!
This place used to be amazing a handful of years ago but it's gone way downhill. The portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gone up. They don't even fill the portion for your rice and beans half the time and the amount of chopped up steak in 3 tacos should fill 1. Try El Paraiso or El Faro. Unfortunately, this is what Algonquin has to offer for Mexican food. The people working here also look like they'd rather not so....says a lot. I've given this place so many chances and spent a lot of money over the years because I really want to believe they're good and it's worth it, but it's not. I just want good Mexican food over here!!
We have been eating here for years and recently found out that the sauces all contain chicken. Much of the staff is not aware of this fact oftentimes will say it's vegetarian when it actually has a chicken base. Even if you order vegetarian nachos or burritos, you will get a sauce with chicken on the side. Many years ago, they used to serve beans with lard in them, even in the vegetarian burrito, and I had emailed them multiple times to ask them to stop. Now the vegetarian food has black beans instead, but unfortunately we have accidentally been eating meat for years due to a lack of information and awareness from the staff regarding the ingredients that go into their own food. Once this issue has been corrected, I will take down this review because I do believe that the restaurant has good intentions and is otherwise of high quality.
Until they hire someone who reads/preps orders correctly we’ll never come back. One too many screw ups on orders
I love this place, I make some great mexican food, but if too busy, this is always first choice. Their red/ green sauces are fantastic, I put them on burgers with fresh jalapenos.
Best tacos I’ve had in a good while! The al pastor meat has really good flavor. The guacamole was also very good surprisingly, since not everyone knows how to make it ? will be coming back for sure
AMAZING SERVICE AND FOOD. Super quick, and their green salsa is FANTASTIC and the steak is high quality. No joke, best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. Great food highly recommend!
