I took my son and my grandson out for dinner at Buona in Huntley, And while the food was good, freshly prepared, and the service was fast, my order was prepared incorrectly. We did not have time to have it corrected, so I ate what I was given. I had asked for a double cheeseburger with cheddar cheese and bacon, no bun. I ended up with American cheese on my double with a bun. I guess I probably wouldn’t feel as dissatisfied if it didn’t cost so much to eat out these days. When I checked my receipt it had been rung up incorrectly and the cashier was listed as a man rather than the young woman who handled the order. Not a horrible experience, but disappointing.
This restaurant gives a refreshing positive look at how staff should be trained and handle their job. We are regular patrons of Buona's and enjoy their food- everything from the famous beefs (my favorite is the beef & sausage bowl!) to salads. But what prompted this review is the tremendous service provided by the team at Buona- from the register to the kitchen to the young man that bagged and presented our order they were smiling, attentive and appeared happy to be doing their job and happy that we chose their restaurant. Restaurant work is a tough gig and finding people that so clearly know how to do it right and seem to enjoy it gives me respect for both them and for the management team that hired and trained them.Well done !
My wife and I share a 10 inch beef, a fry, and a half carafe of cabernet, and watch a game. We enjoy this place more than an expensive restaurant. The beefs are great and they're much larger than the well known competition.
Gotta say I won't be back. I just wasn't into the spice or herb they use that's unlike ANY other beef sandwich I've had. It may taste ok for others but it just isn't my cuppa tea. It's easy to compare to/with your "other" place cause the taste is SO different.
Had dinner at the Algonquin location tonight. Very nice atmosphere; I liked the decor, and the restaurant was brightly lit and clean. Staff was friendly. Tried the Meatball and Sausage Protein Bowl. The sausage was spicy, the meatballs were very nicely textured and very tasty. The marinara was thick (not at all runny) and delicious. Everything in the bowl was fresh. Good size portion. I will definitely be back!
I’ve been to a few different buona locations and the Algonquin one is my favorite. Food is always fresh and hot and the burgers on Wednesday are always cooked perfectly. Tried the chopped salad today and it’s a winner. I’ll be ordering that again. People are friendly at Algonquin also and someone always asks if everything is good. I like that.
Excellent Italian beef. It's the best around. Beef and sausage bowl is a great low carb option. I had only picked up food via the drive-thru until this week. I went inside and found the ambiance to be really cool. They sell beer too. I didn't know that from the drive-thru... I'll be back... [often]
The family and I used to frequent this Buona, however, we have been increasingly wary of picking up from here. The last two times we have ordered food through the drive through, at least one of us recieves the wrong food.Just tonight, around 8pm, somehow everything on the receipt and the bag said Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Somehow, I went home with a cheeseburger in it's place.
I had to pick up a door dash order and I went through the drive through they put a sticky note that said door dash and this hot girl working the drive thru told me to pull up to a spot they will bring it out to me I waited for 40 min for them to bring it out so this lady in red hair brought it out to me and said next time come inside cause that’s what dashers have to do and I tried to explain that they told me too pull in a spot but when I was explaining she just walked away but anyways girl in the drive thru hmu sc juan63219?
Order a variety of different items to try this place out. Everything was delicious, expect the fries and the chicken Parmesan sandwich. The fries tasted old, and the parm sandwich wasn’t a “fan” favorite. I was a little disappointed with their delivery, I received it as pictured. There was no cover to show if someone had broken it or taken anything out. Overall, their Italian beef was great and the burgers were fresh.
