One of our favorites! Food is amazing and friendly staff!
Great experience here. First I have to say the service was some of the best I’ve ever had. I am from Tennessee and had no idea what to expect because I have never eaten a Greek restaurant before. I ordered what the waitress suggested and got a little bit of everything. My food had the most fresh taste I couldn’t even have imagined. The fish was just so fluffy and full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. The lamb was not my favorite but I can’t deny how juicy and full of flavor it was. I was beyond full and beyond satisfied with everything about the entire experience. Drinks were strong and delicious as well. This place lives up to the hype for me.
If you enjoy Mediterranean (Greek-Italian-Slavic) food then The White House Grill will bless you with its array of garlicky and sumptuous choices. For a quick lunch we ordered the Greek Plate which comes to your table in 5 minutes. But I recommend trying the Firinda Sarmisak - a walnut, garlic and cheese dip paired with pita bread that brings joy to every corner of your tastebuds. The table next to us ordered the blackened salmon and it looked amazing! Outside seating is fun, and the relaxed vibe beckons you to have a glass of wine or a tasty drink. If you’re concerned about garlic breath, the bathrooms are equipped with a mouthwash station.
My favorite of all times been going there for about 17 yrs! Good food good service!
Atmosphere was excellent, but I have to say that the large size Caesar salad was one of the poorest I have ever had. Absolutely no taste to the dressing - more like a light vinaigrette with a few threads of cheese (? what kind I could not tell). Did the kitchen make the wrong salad for me?? There was also one piece of feta in the salad and no anchovy taste at all. Anyway, I would never order again. The large green bean side was also a limp pile of stuff - very overcooked and not crisp at all with excess brown stuff poured on top. Next time I visit family in Post Falls, I will go elsewhere for dinner.
Came here today. Place was packed. The waif of garlic filled the air. If you want to get on their waitlist, you need to be there in person. All the staff was nice. We decided on calamari and Sarmisak, the roasted garlic dip as appetizers. Both were delicious and as you can see we started eating the calamari and dip before I got the before picture. The calamari also had fried pieces of garlic as well. So good! Then the main dishes came. I got the deluxe gyro, filled with all the veggies. The pits bread was crunchy which I would have preferred a warmed softer pita bread with it. BF got the chicken rome which is basically like chicken parmesan but the tomato sauce is on the bottom. Everything was perfectly cooked. Juicy and flavorful. Green beans were cooked to perfection and the pasta had just the right amount of garlic. My BF's step mom got the chicken Istanbul. Great flavors that I have not tasted together before. Very flavorful even the rice. The veggies were al dente cooked but still had that bite. Next we shared Kadayif. It's a Turkish baklava basically. It's a walnut mixture on the bottom with shredded pastry on top baked to crunchy perfection and a dollop of cream before its served. Everything was full of flavor and garlic was part of every dish! Will for sure be back when in the area to try other dishes.
On April 29, 2022, I ate at the White House Grill for the first time. My wife and 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son comprised part of a 13-person party that gathered to celebrate my sister-in-law’s birthday. What a fun place to eat! We were seated at a long table in the back of the restaurant and had a really memorable time.First, the food. My wife ordered the Turkish Cigars as an appetizer and I have to be honest and say they weren’t really my cup of tea. I was hoping for a greater cheese balance than spinach balance but that is just the way things go. My hesitancy made my wife happy because it meant more Turkish Cigars for her. For my entrée I ordered the chicken burger. The large piece of tender, garlic-y chicken was in between a pretzel bun and was so good. I enjoyed the seasoned French fries and managed to eat every one. My wife ordered the Chicken Rome and let me tell you, that chicken breast was on point! Tasty and flavorful, I couldn’t let it go to waste after my wife stopped eating it simply because her stomach had reached capacity. I do have to point out that the pasta served with it was a little burnt with a spongy consistency. Perhaps best of all though was the curried chicken ravioli. I am a big curry fan and the White House ravioli does it justice. The menu describes the sauce as “rich” and that truly is the best way to describe it. It truly is a rich, flavorful dish. A children’s menu is offered and my daughter got spaghetti and my son got a grilled cheese sandwich.I want to now address the value. It is excellent. Portions are large and menu prices are low compared to what your average restaurant charges. It is a win-win! You can get appetizers for around $5, many entrees are priced in the $11-$13 range, and children’s menu options run in the $4.50-$6 range. You won’t feel ripped off or cheated here. You pay a pretty small price for a large amount of delicious food.Next you have the atmosphere. As I mentioned, the White House Grill is a fun place to eat. The restaurant layout is quirky with several different sections throughout the space. But no matter where you are in the place, that one-of-a-kind roasted strong garlic smell will delight your nose. Acoustics in the restaurant don’t offer a silent dining experience by any means but it isn’t too loud to have an audible, room-level conversation at your table. Lighting is dimmed and relaxed/romantic. All stimuli that you encounter within White House will aid in a pleasant experience.Last but not least, I want to commend the service. Kailie was our server and from the moment we sat down to when we left at the end of the night, she worked her tail off. She was kind and engaging with a smile on her face the whole time. She was easy to talk to and our large party’s order came out perfect. She rounded up her crew to sing “happy birthday” to my sister-in-law and she gladly served a cake that we brought from home. My wife and I ordered sodas and she was attentive to bring us refills whenever she noticed our glass getting low. We all genuinely appreciated Kailie’s effort.I strongly recommend the White House Grill as it delivers in all respects. I look forward to dining there again and suggesting it to friends.
We've been meaning to eat here for months and were delighted to find it open for an 8:30pm dinner on a Monday. Every person we encountered was still friendly at the end of their day, and our server Amber was especially sweet and helpful with her recommendations. They've got great food, cozy ambience and gems for staff - we're looking forward to our next visit!
I hadn't been here in a couple of years simply because of geography and Covid. I was so happy to see they survived and everything was even better than I remembered. The Turkish cigars are a must and if you ask nicely, they might make you my personal favorite Chicken Istanbul even though it isn't on the menu. Garlic green beans are just the best. Service was fantastic too. It is worth the drive if you are not in the immediate area.
We were impressed with the Oval Office and decided to try this associated one..Not realizing it was Mediterranean. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff And good food! Enjoyed the menu…watch out for the garlic in the salad!!
