Off the Rails was a cute fun location headed home from Craters of the Moon. Kid friendly. The location was near the Railroad tracks, I loved the metal chairs and signs. And overall the cool atmosphere. I got the Snoozer smoked gouda and tomato jelly burger. It was good, but there was more jelly than gouda, but I LOVE gouda so don’t base your not eating here on my love of cheese. It was a lot of food and I could not finish. The fries was delicious. My 13 yr old got the Coupler Kids Pizza she enjoyed it. My spouse got the Freight Train Fried Chicken Sandwich and fries. He moderately liked it. He said it was ok. I had a bite and felt the same. My 16 yr old got the Railroad Burger and he said it was good but not his favorite, and devoured the fries. He also ate mine. The spouse and I got adult beverages, he got the Bloody Mary and said it could have been better. I got the cranberry vodka and I LOVE the white cranberry. However the vodka to juice ratio was off. It appeared to be about 1 shot vodka to a tall 12 ounce glass of juice and Bloody Mary mix. They do have options to take beer home however it was $15.99+ for a 4 pack depending on what we chose. We did not buy any. They had a canned hard lemonade version to take home at $6.99 a can as it was a “in house drink”, I was told I could buy at another location but again would be maybe around $4.99 a can as well. We did not purchase that either. Overall cute atmosphere great food but the drinks and prices could be worked on. Our server was super sweet and friendly. Bathrooms were clean.
Last two times I went the waitress was extremely rude and slow. No friendly greeting, no assistance with a high chair, also no changing table in the bathroom. Definitely not a kid friendly place. Waitress seemed annoyed to be working there. It took 20 minutes to take our drink order and over an hour for the food. I don’t mind spending $100 taking my family out to a nice meal, but not if every little thing is a problem for the waitress. For a place that serves and brews beer they don’t seem very interested in selling it.
It’s called Off the Rails, but the flavors are completely on track for things like the crazy delicious Pineapple Express, and you can’t go wrong with the Gouda Burger either, but boarding the burger and beer train is incredible here. The Iron Mask Peanut Butter Stout made a wine enthusiast wish i had got a different shaped glass!Don’t pass up this Pocatello gem!
This is our favorite spot in Pocatello. I’m gluten free and the owners have plenty of options for me both with food and beverage. The servers always remember us when we come in and sometimes we even bring our toddlers along. We’ve enjoyed the live music in the evening as well. Put this on your list if you’re stopping through!
Fun and friendly staff. The food is bomb! When there is live music, the local bands are so much fun to listen to!!! Justin and Peyton are my faves!!!!
The food is very good. The service is terrible. We went in with friends last night for the first time. Our waitress hung out at another table almost the whole night. She messed up almost all of our orders, my wife spilled her drink and they basically threw a rag at her to clean it up and didn't offer her a new drink until we finally flagged someone down. We waited for our beers for over 15 minutes and then had to re order them because she just "forgot".If she wasn't behind the counter taking shots all night and only focusing on that one table, I think we could have actually enjoyed our service.
Me and my wife were walking through the art walk and decided to try out the restaurant we were seated within a couple minutes of entering. After we got seated the beer I had received through the walk was taken which for a restaurant no big deal I understand rules are rules but then me and my wife sat for over 15 minutes without being seen again for our order or given a menu or drink orders. We watched the end of guardians of the galaxy and the first ten minutes of deadpool while people were being seated and we still didn't even get a menu we ended up walking out and still nothing from the staff and it didn't seem to be packed at all. Very disappointed we were actually excited about trying the new place so now we're going to find a place that will atleast give us drinks and menus while we wait.
The food was amazing. The music and atmosphere was welcoming. I will definitely come back.
If I could I would give negative stars. The very worse meals I've had on all my 5 visits to Pocatello. The chicken sandwich was nothing but extra dry, over cooked and hard. No lettuce nothing, on one corner of the chicken was some sauce but there wasn't enough of it to even tell what it was. Extremely disappointed!!! Yes I said something to our server who showed no emotion, no caring, no I'm sorry. NOTHING. To have spent $50 on lunch and couldn't even eat mine. If the family wants to eat there again I'll come but I'll let everyone know how bad my food was today. Then I'll watch them eat.
This is honestly the best place in Pocatello to eat! The service is 12/10, the wine selection is small but outstanding 15/10, the staff is knowledgeable about all of their handcrafted beers and even recommend the perfect beer to pair with your meal! They are avid participants in the local art walk each Friday and have live music consistently! They’re super involved in the community and support other local businesses, we love it! I have tried tons of things on the menu, and so far everything is my favorite (especially the Brussel sprouts). Sometimes it’s busy, so if you have a larger party consider making a reservation! Pocatello is blessed to have such a great brewery and restaurant calling it home!
