The service here is REALLY, REALLY good but the food is nothing to write home about. Food is always hot but nothing exciting or flavorful about it, for the high cost. Again, the service is wonderful, this isn't a dig on the employees. It's just the same generic Mexican you can get all over the country.
The prices on line don't match dine-in menu prices. I've never seen such tiny portion for steak fajita. Sooo small my wife could only fill one small flour tortilla for $13.99. How ridiculous is that. On-line price was $11.99. My friends and we will never go back. High prices for small portions. We'll be going back to our favorite resteraunt where we know the prices are worth the portions.
**This review is for the Blvd location**I had not been in months and was looking forward to the yummy food. When you are paying (menu price avg $17.99) the expectation is set for something a bit more. Our service was excellent as their team approach to wait staff is top notch. Then the sadness started with needing a straw to drink from my broken plastic coke cup, then receiving my (bland ? smothered in cheese) food, on a plate that was stained and had a huge (man thumb size) chip. I did mention it to the waiter who offered to replate (we've all seen that tiktok-no thanks). I felt sad that the owner/ manager walked over to eyeball our table but didn't say a friendly hello or acknowledge what her staff had obviously brought to her attention. I did not want a discount or refund and tipped 20%... it was just completely disheartening. I've enjoyed Chapala in other states and locations and know this wasn't the norm. Fair warning don't plan on even having a normal conversation at this once favoured place...The vacuuming makes that impossible. One friendly man even vacuumed under our table as 2 adults were trying to finish our meal- it was just so disappointing. If you go, my companion had Pork Carnitas that were yummy. Try for yourself, I just hope you have a better experience.
Our waiter Ceasar was very polite and courteous as he always is. He quickly came back, once we had ordered, to apoligize for being out of one of our selections. Through out our dinner he checked on us several times asking if we needed anything. Ceasar really makes the dining experience much more enjoyable.
Best Mexican restaurant in the Boise metropolitan area. I was raised in Texas and just moved to Idaho this past year. It’s hard to get impressive Mexican food anywhere but Texas, But this place exceeded expectations. The food was AMAZING, it was very clean and the service is amazing. If you go when it’s busy, the wait is never usually too long as well. I love the small local business atmosphere it gives. Food is also priced almost perfectly, nothing is too expensive! :)

Horrible service once you walk in the door. They try to get you in and out of the dirty restaurant as fast as they can. They only want your money and fast. The food wasn't very good at all. Looked like they slopped it on your plate from the floor. Hurry up and eat before they give you the bill to get put of their hair. I usually drop at least a c- note and a tip. These guys got to big for their own good. Lost a customer of at least five years. Dumb.
We love this restaurant. The staff are always friendly and smiling, the food is always delicious. Lunch or dinner, we’ve never been disappointed!
I will not go back. We were coming in to eat dinner due to El Tanampa's restaurant catching on fire. This was our 2nd time, we ordered the pork carnita's. They were HORRIBLE, my daughter and myself could not chew the prok due to it being so tough. Came in a 2nd time and walked in to get seated the other day and they asked for my number. I asled why on earth would you need my number? She (assuming to owner) told me because we have to wait outside. I was/am all game for protecting when there was nothing to protect us with this virus. My issue is there's aa vaccine for anyone to take. It was so far along the vaccine availability I had my 3rd shot. What did get me though she smiled and was extremely short aka too bad and walked away from us. I will eat at los beto's before I come back to your restaurant. You chose to hold some ridiculous rule (after widely available vaccines out) after no other restaurant was continuing that practice. And to watch the arrogance of a business owner be so snotty over trying to protect people who don't want the shot is baffling. You run with your theories lady, we will never walk into your establishment again. PLEASE EL TANAMPA OPEN!!!!!!
Our food was amazing! We had more than enough food and it was perfectly cooked to our specifications. Thank you for an amazing experience! This is our destination for fine cuisine
