El Matador was sadly a disappointment for us! My husband and I visited on our anniversary. We enjoy good food and drink. The margaritas were unfortunately just not great. My husband ordered the classic margarita, it tasted as if someone had dumped salt into his glass before making the drink. I ordered the blackberry habanero margarita, it was decent, however, once my food came, I was unable to finish it. The food itself was unfortunately just not up to par for what we are used to. Perhaps just an off evening or a new chef, everyone has their bad days. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, but it is safe to say, we likely won’t be visiting again. We really wanted to like this one.
Great food and kind staff, but a very popular place. Definitely expect to be waiting around 40mins to an hour to be seated (especially around dinnertime).
They were absolutely a delight. They called and talk to me multiple times after asking for no onions. They wanted to make sure it wasn't an allergy and that onion powder was ok. Then when they gave it to me after a wait, because they were swamped, it still had onions on it. When I asked about it they were super apologetic, and made me a new plate that was perfect!Everything tasted so good. Definitely going there again. I'm pretty sure I want to try everything on the menu.
One of the better resteraunts/bars in the area. The margaritas are consistently good (go for the to shelf if you can, the couple dollars is worth it) and I always enjoy the atmosphere when I'm there.The tacos and nachos are on point but I would recommend reservations on Friday and Saturday nights as it can be a wait sometimes.
Terrible cold food. My food was cold and it took so long for the waiter to check on us everyone was finished eating so I sent it back and didn't even get to eat. No one cared! They overcharged us
I go there every year for my birthday because they have delicious food and great service!!
We arrived at 3:30 and we were seated promptly. We watched 3 more parties be seated around us over the next 20 minutes. They all received their water, chips etc, we didn't. Then they received their appetizers and main courses. We called the waiter over to find out we were not assigned to anyone. He took our order. Our food was completely cold when it arrived and the meat was so tough I couldn't cut it with a steak knife. Waste of time and money. Will not return. The only reason I gave it a star was because the waiter was pleasant.
Not even done with my food, but had to write this! Great and friendly staff, salsa is pleasantly hearty and mild, but if you haven't yet, try the Ribeye tacos!!! A very unique blend of flavor whole still tasting like a traditional taco.Oh and the wild mushroom skillet is fantastic too!
Best chips and salsa in town!!! Great for date night. Awesome atmosphere and service. Make a reservation if your planning on going on a weekend evening at dinner time to save the hour long wait time!Try the Rib-eye Tacos and thank me later!
