Il Sugo used to be downtown Boise but they moved to Meridian. The owners have decorated the place with old Italian charm and the food is excellent!! Once seated you get bread with olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce. This is a limited menu but I believe we have eaten everything on the menu and never a disappointment. Our waiter Antonio as usual is amazing!! I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food! You will not be disappointed!
Amazing pasta and desserts! Great service..we had Antonio who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. He kept our drink glasses filled and the bread basket filled. The pasta dish I had was $16.95 but there was plenty of it so I definitely did not feel cheated. If you eat here, consider the strawberry New York cheesecake for dessert!
I took my wife and mother here and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The venue is very authentic and full with artwork. The patio was inviting on a warm summer night and our server Shelly was very pleasant and informative. I got the beef rib ravioli and it was delicious. Highly recommend. Grant the owner is also super kind and has an awesome story.
Terrific addition to the Meridian community. Grant the owner made a point of visiting the tables. Seemed to appreciate us being there and I appreciate being appreciated. The mussel's were terrific. They had a gluten free pasta option. Super relaxed atmosphere. Finally we had a fantastic bottle of wine for $30 (La Fiera)! I mean in today's market it seemed like a heck of a deal and was delicious with our dinner's. Closed out the evening with a really good slice of strawberry cheesecake.
Our first time here. Very authentic recipes. The pasta is so fresh and delicious. We took our meals to go, but the atmosphere inside seems very nice as well. The sauces on our chicken dishes had amazing flavor! We will be back.
A new favorite restaurant for us! The service was great, from the hostess to our server who never let our glasses get empty. The bread is locally made and delicious, the Caesar salad has SO MUCH Parmesan cheese and we loved it. I had the il sugo and it was the best pasta I’ve ever had - a nice creamy sauce with mushrooms and shredded pork (and more of that Parmesan cheese). My husband likes red sauce and had the arabiatta. We will definitely be back.
Stephanie was awesome. She is one of a kind. Best Italian food i have had in a long time. The owner stopped by our table. He was very nice and excited about serving the local community. What a great experience. We will be back.
Very disappointed. We went there for Valentines Day. When we arrived we were greeted with a very limited menu. We were never told that prior to arriving. It was a flat $40 per person, regardless of what you ordered. None of the items on the limited menu were what I had planned to order. Each item we did get was very average at best. There was nothing special about the salads or the entrees. It was worse than Olive Garden. And we don't eat there anymore either.
Had the Bruschetta and il Surgo. The Bruschetta was excellent. I loved the fresh tomatoes and the bread had a crisp yet not over hard. That was the highlight of my visit and will bring me back. The Caesar salad was drowning in dressing. The il Surgo was Ok. It was a thick creamy white sauce with pork which I like in texture however taste was a little bland. I wanted a little more pop to it. There was just something missing and I can't put my finger on it. The waiting bread was very dry and hard. As for cost it was $10 for appetizers. $16 to $25 for main dishes. I will let you decide if that expensive or just right. Portions were no not too large or to small. I thought when we got there was very nice however it got busy and the seating was tight so we were banging chairs with the people behind us. The waitress was nice. I do want to try again with a red sauce dish because the Bruschetta was so good. Their meatballs looked really good.
