Not a good teriyaki rice bowl. The chicken was over-cooked & dry, there are basically no veggies in the rice bowl, and the staff show no interest in their job. I ordered 2 chicken rice bowls 2 go and when I got home I realized that the chicken was very dry and over-cooked, there were no veggies (broccoli, carrots, etc.) in the rice bowl other than 3-4 pieces of cabbage, and the staff here was too busy playing video games on their phones. Avoid this place.
Recently went in to order to chicken rice bowls to go. When I got home I realized the chicken was over-cooked & very dry, there were basically no veggies (broccoli, zuch, carrots, etc.) other than 3-4 pieces of cabbage, tons of teriyaki sauce, and the staff was pretty pathetic. I realize that finding good staff is difficult for many establishments, but at least teach your staff to not play video games on their phone right in front of the waiting customers. Avoid this place!!
I made an order of chicken teriyaki and selected the option for some extra sauce but the sauce was barely drizzled on the top. There is no sauce on the rice at all. I have ordered this before from the Kuna location but it looks like it was closed so we went to the overland location and are extremely disappointed with the quality of food. I would normally recommend happy teriyaki but in this case I would not. I also tried to reach out to the help email on the app and that did not work. So I emailed the email listed in the help screen but the email was not good and my messaged failed to send.
Picked up takeout for me and my grandparents for dinner and was on the phone with my friend who said they love Happy Teriyaki. So I went ahead and ordered something for them too. The employees were awesome, a gal was being trained and I could just tell that it was a very fun happy *wink* environment. I wasn’t able to eat my food until the next morning but it was still so delicious. Word from the grandparents, who ate it hot and fresh, was also strikingly positive. My friends food is in my fridge still so he defaults to his original claim of loving Happy Teriyaki until I get it to him…
First thing I noticed was that some of the decor doesnt really match the ethnic food. Food was pretty generic, nothing really stood out for the visit. Not bad, but not amazing either.
I normally order Happy Teriyaki for dinner near my work (in another town); one day I ordered from the Overland Rd, Meridian location and was surprised and disappointed to find that their bowls are smaller, (about a third less food!) but the price was the same. I won't be eating at this location again.
I ordered a teriyaki chicken bowl with rice and veggies. The Rice and vegetables were bland, unseasoned and not good. Definitely need some salt or sauce. The chicken portion was thin and small, although it did taste good. But there was a small amount of Teriyaki sauce. So I recommend getting extra sauce if you like sauce. I personally won't eat that again I think it's overpriced for what you get. Will not recommend.
Place an order online and still wait 20 minutes once you arrive!! People who walk in should be placed in ordered line series and not have ordered pushed ahead, what was the point of me ordering ahead. Can't eat the food now, was on a tight schedule
I came here for the first time today. It seemed like it was family ran, which I think is cool. They were seriously some of the nicest people. They were especially nice and patient with my toddler. I would go back just because of how awesome and nice they are. The food was also delicious and tasted very fresh. I'll definitely be being going back regularly.
This place is awesome. I had always just driven by it, and one day we decided to order take out. They have NEVER messed up an order, always have my order ready when they say, and do not disappoint when it comes to portions! If you haven’t tried this place yet, it is so good. My kids love the katsu and the teriyaki beef is great too! Thank you for being a solid, consistent go-to for our family!
