Worst dining experience I've had in a long time. I am gluten free and dairy free, the rest of my family is not. We ordered two regular pizzas from the menu and I ordered a build-your-own pizza with gluten free crust. I asked if they had dairy free cheese and they said no, so I ordered it with the Grimaldi sauce, chicken sausage, and roasted peppers. First off, my pizza came a full 15 minutes after everyone else's (which is ridiculous--go figure I'd like to eat at about the same time as the rest of my family), and it came with cheese on it. So I had to wait another 20+ minutes (no priority for a messed up order in their pizza oven) for my pizza to come out and it was barely edible. The crust was burnt, sauce tasted like tomato paste (no flavor or salt). The only flavor came from the sausage. Between the burnt crust, I ended up eating at most half of it. They could've at least given that pizza to us for free given the mistake, the burnt, and the fact that my entire family had to wait and watch me eat. Never going there again.
The server was kind, but was not on top of checking on us. Also the pizza was not worth the price. The sauce was quite delicious, but should not take 1hr to make and cook one 12inch pizza with only ham and basil on it.
We went to Grimaldi’s for my friends daughters birthday dinner. It was great food and the service was amazing. The manager and the waitress met all our needs. It was my first experience. I will definitely be returning. I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone. Thank you for a great experience.
Normally I would give them a better rating because was actually pretty good but the pizza ordered was cheese and basil, there was one piece of basil put right in the center of the pie. This was pathetic!
Pizza is really over priced for the quality. Our server didn't bring our appetizer, the pizza was the wrong sauce, drinks were not made well. Would not recommend this place.
Great pizza, my grandson 1/2 of 18 inch pizza.
This was our first visit to Grimaldi's despite living in Boise for our entire lives. We haven't visited until this point due to the price, but decided to splurge today on a lunch date. We were disappointed overall in the visit. We arrived at 2pm and ordered at 2:14. Our pizza did not arrive until 2:46, and this is on a Sunday after the lunch rush. The waitress asked if it was our first time, we said yes, but she didn't offer any advice or recommendations.When the pizza arrived it was mediocre-good, certainly not worth the 27 dollars we paid for it. The flavor was pretty good but the consistency was terrible, whoever made it did not spread the sauce or toppings as we had a piece that had hardly any sauce on it.On top of this we finished our drinks halfway through the pizza and no one came back to refill them or check on the quality of the experience.We were sadly disappointed as this place was supposed to be special but ended up being more on the level of a run-of-the-mill franchise pizza joint. Especially for the cost.
Let me start by staying I'm very particular when it comes to pizza. The result of growing up in NJ. Being a chain restaurant I had avoided going there despite it being recommended by someone. I should have listened to my gut. The crust is very thin and crispy. The sauce really didn't seem to have much flavor. However, the cheese did. Unfortunately it was a very weird flavor profile. Almost cream cheese like. Not at all what I expected from a pizza restaurant that bills itself as a pizzeria based on 100 years of tradition. If you like it great. If you're looking for a real NY pizza you'll be disappointed. I've been to several pizza places in the Boise area now and think it's time to give up.
Best pizza I've ever had! Wonderful atmosphere and service. Very clean! The gluten free pizza was amazingly delicious as well.
So disappointed. Have been here in the past and enjoyed the pizza. Tonight it was soggy in the middle, over sauced and burnt on the sides.I won’t be making the mistake of eating here again.Was also charged for a soft drink refill which most places refill for free.The salad was good - I’ll give them that.
