After reading reviews of the avocado toast, Jenna and I decided we needed to try it. The avocado toast is great and I appreciate it not being sliced, as it makes it easier to eat. The chicken fried steak easily contends for the best in the valley. Not because of the steak itself, but because of the gravy. Definitely in the top 3 gravies I've had. Chef David came to the table and talked gravy and Harley's with me. Looking forward to replicating the gravy at home. This is a true gem in the heart of Meridian.
Overall , this place was great and I’ll be going back.Went with my dog at 9:00 AM on a Sunday, no wait at all. Very dog friendly patio, brought my dog water and treat with whipped cream. Our server was extremely friendly and welcoming.The atmosphere nice and the patio is shady and cool in the morning. Didn’t go inside, so I can’t speak to that.Ordered the gunslinger and it was delicious. Very hearty with plenty of eggs, bacon, and ham. The gravy dipping sauce was great too, big chunks of meat in it as well.The only two things that keep it from being 5 stars overall is the drip coffee wasn’t hot, warm, but not hot. The second thing was price, it wasn’t way out of line for the quality of food and service (which was great), but $19 for breakfast is on the high end. With that being said, I’ll happily pay it for a locally owned cafe with good food and service.
My husband, daughter and I were looking for a place for Sunday lunch. Drove into downtown Meridian to park and walk around to then stumbled upon Deja Brew. They were about to close for the day in 6 minutes. We were about to leave but the chef insisted and graciously served us for lunch. The atmosphere is cozy with artwork displayed for purchase if you saw something you liked. The staff was excellent, spoke to us like we were all old friends.Husband ordered the Berry Chicken Salad, a salad of mixed greens, candied walnuts, chicken, fruit and an amazing berry dressing that we wished we could take home. I ordered Nana's Classic Club with fries. The sandwich was a delicious. This sandwich was more than satisfying with a perfect balance of turkey and crispy bacon. The fries....they serve regular and Ranch fries. If my regular fries tasted that good then the Ranch fries would probably blow my mind. The fries were thick and had the perfect amount of crisp!! Our daughter ordered the Triple Chocolate Truffle Torte. One bite and we were transcendent to another planet! It was decadent and creamy. I imagined it with a nice cup of coffee. We noticed there were 6 kind of eggs benedict on the breakfast menu so I will be back to try all 6. (Compliments to the Chef and his staff)Deja Brew is mostly a breakfast and lunch but also serve dinner on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They have live music so we will definitely be checking out their events page online. Did I mention they are a wine bar as well?If you're trying to find a place where it could be your regular hangout spot like us, this is the place you'll need to check out. You won't be sorry. So come in, try it out and you'll probably see us there- trying out all the goodness they have to offer!
Deja Brew Cafe is a really welcoming place where all the guest and customers smile at you as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere is cozy. Not to mention to food is delicious and the drinks are good. If you order hot drinks they come to you at a drinkable temperature. I really recommend this place.
The special tonight… OH MY GOSH, amazing!!! The Corn appetizer was just yummy!!The ninja turtle drink is super yummy! A little sweet, I don’t have sweets much.Jessie is the best server ever, always so cute and attentive. Her fashion is top notch!! ♥️♥️♥️
Any coffee shop/restaurant with a shelf of books and a coffee drink named after Bill Murray is alright by me. We've gone for breakfast on multiple occasions and their biscuits and gravy are great! Freshly made, super soft biscuits and housemade gravy. Crispy, well seasoned home fries. If you ask for your eggs cooked a certain way, they deliver! Looking forward to trying lunch or dinner soon with live music!
Good atmosphere, Very busy and probably understaffed, but service was very slow. Food was delicious an so were the Mango Mimosas!
Breakfast is good, coffee drinks are even better! The atmosphere could be improved with a single theme because the restaraunt isn't sure if they are a breakfast place or a wine and dine.
Soooooo, 100% were " those people" by accident and walked in 15 minutes to close. Kendra insisted we don't leave with an empty stomach and made the experience over the top enjoyable... the menu was simple but the items we ordered were delicious. The wine menu was through with a great selection of all types. They also had local artists pictures hanging everywhere and a reading corner next to the bar.. We will be back guarenteed! Highly reccomend this local small business!
I'd never been here before but came to use my free kids hot chocolate coupon. My kids say this is the best hot chocolate they've ever had and this place needs a million stars. My husband never enjoys hot drinks but he liked his too. The muffins were delicious and the server was kind and we love her elf outfit.
