Very overpriced for such small proportions (would be worth it if the food was good). The seating is covered in duct tape and needs to be reupholstered. If the theme is the 50’s, then why are y’all using tablets and not a pen and pad? Keep it original. A bonus is how clean the place is though. The burger was burnt and the fries were rubbery. The spaghetti was way over sauced and had zero seasoning, just straight up mashed tomatoes. I got a side salad and the croutons were sooooo salty, the cucumbers were atrocious, like how??? Never have I ever spit out food but I did today.I am going to point out, the waitress we had did an outstanding job, she was friendly and checked on us frequently, I don’t have any problem with the staff :)
Unfortunately this may have been the worst service I’ve ever experienced. We sat for over 30 mins without any acknowledgement or drinks or anything if any kind and had to physically get up and ask to have our order taken. Once we got our order taken it took over an hour to get our food and I never even got a order of cheese sticks that I ordered and my soup with my Alfredo never came until we asked for it. The menus sat on the table the entire time and the server even spilled water on them and still didn’t have the mind to take out menus. The food was ok but was kind of bland which was the nail in the coffin for me because the only reason we didn’t leave was because we had hopes the food would be good. All in all it was a horrible experience.
Ordered the James Dean with fried mushrooms. Ordered through door dash. Everything arrived HOT.as in got to let it cool down HOT. Burger was seasoned correctly, very very good. The fries were the bummer, spiral cut but in a closed container, they got soft quickly and weren't seasoned at all. Alittle truffle oil ,salt and pepper would have been nice. Otherwise very very good.
I have to say this was the worst dinning experience in a long time. From entry to exit. There were 2 other tables when we got there, whom both were eating. It took problly 10 minutes before we got menus. We ordered drinks another 5 minutes wait for drinks. We ordered. My grandson got his dinner 10 minutes before ours. We finally got our meal. And then the bill came. For a patty melt cheese, please burger meal, a child's cheeseburger meal, a diet coke, tea and child soda was 47$. Way too much money for poor food and very poor slow service. I will not be back.
Excellent, on time, very high quality and tasty Thanksgiving dinners delivered! Helped so many people that couldn't get out their homes to be able too enjoy a great meal.
I just had my family meet here for my son’s birthday dinner. All 15 of us had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food and fun atmosphere. But it was the staff that made the experience so enjoyable. Thank you for the great service and great dinner.
Was in Lewiston on Thanksgiving and nearly all restaurants were closed. After calling around with mostly no answers, we found the Way back Cafe that had a great Thanksgiving feast laid out all home made all Delicious!
We went for Thanksgiving dinner and it was awful. The dressing was dry, the yams tasted strange. Won't go back.
I've left great reviews for this restaurant before, but that was before tonight. We ordered a Wayback Dip which I have praised for their flavorful au jus, and onion rings which had an amazing panko crust. My husband ordered a half rack of ribs which is supposed to come with a salad. @DoorDash delivered the meal. The "dip" arrived without a dip and the ribs arrived without a salad. When we called we were told "the food is on the shelf and it's up to Door Dash to get the right things." What? When I called, the woman who answered refused to give me her name and hung up on me-twice. She also said there were no managers on duty. Is that true, Wayback, or did the employee lie? She was also rude to my husband when he called to ask about his salad and complained to him about my call.We will be contacting the owners to request proper training for their employees.Regarding the food. I didn't eat the dip because I had no ingredients to make the bullion. The onion rings no longer have a panko crust and are just regular onion rings. Not even worth the extra 95 cents I paid.Wayback tried to blame Door Dash, but I blame Wayback. They need to train their employees to check EVERY order before it leaves their store. Hanging up on customers, blaming others, and demanding that the customer take steps to fix things is unacceptable. It makes me sad because we love to patronize local eateries over national chains. If we're going to be treated like this, though, we'll go for consistency and proper employee training.
Best restaurant in town with a huge menu of classic American food.Clean and great service.
