Sat for twenty minutes before we saw a waitressStill waiting for hamburger for forty minutes after placing order. Half of the restaurant is empty so it's not like they are overly busy.
I love the food and even more i love the staff and their ability to handle my high strung children ❤️
I recommend you eat in the bar. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the seventies. I have a wonderful house white wine. The turkey soup is rich with shreds of meat and noodles that look like they're from a lasagna. The taste is rich flavorful and the toasted bread that they give you with the soup makes dipping quite a pleasure. My wife and I each ordered a sandwich. She had the turkey and I had meatloaf. These are the biggest sandwiches I've ever had in a restaurant. They were too big to eat at one seating so we each save the other half for dinner. I recommend the curly fries over the tater tots as the serving is a bigger. After you finish eating you can walk through the door into the bowling alley and burn off those calories. Staff was very friendly and pricing was appropriate for the portions.
It's kinda kitschy in decor, I liked it. Think 1973. Cozy. But my turkey sandwich was just toasted bread, in inch thick slices, and shreds of turkey that was terribly dry. Tiny bit of mayo, but it really was unpleasant. I took it apart and put some salad and ranch on it, ate it open faced. It came with their "famous" stuffing, which was tasty, but consisted of bread and spices. Period, no onion, celery, just very dark moist bread. Strange. The other two sandwiches looked as dry and plain, the brisket had been around for days, but my daughter said it had good flavor. Great waitress. I dunno, I'll try it for dinner, and now that I know what to expect I'll know to get gravy and cranberries and whatnot!
It was a nice late dinner at about 7:30. The restaurant wasn't crowded by any means, but there were parties at several other tables. I had a 1/2 Turben which was good as always. If it's your first visit, a whole sandwich is very large so don't be too proud to order a 1/2. Our waitress took good care of us and suggested toppings/dressings/sauces to make sure our meals were just as we wanted them. Strike & Spare isn't always often in the forefront of my mind, but it's well worth the visit when I remember.
This is always a safe choice for a great sandwich. My fries were cold, and were replaced with fresh hot ones at lightening speed. They're just so nice there, and lunch is always good.
I had a Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich, was very tasty, the onion rings were awesome. Ran into an old coworker from years ago. A nice place to meet people and have something to eat.
The brisket sandwich was done perfectly. Smoky brisket on thick Texas toast with a side of tangy BBQ sauce. Delicious. The prime rib sandwich was also very good.It was really busy, but the service did not suffer.I will return!
Great and great big sandwiches stacked high with meat. Turkey noodle soup that will warm your soul. They have a good app menu to go with a beer or mixed drink or two. A family friendly place with an at home feel.
Waitresses were extremely friendly, and attentive. Food was hot, flavorful, and abundant. Atmosphere was clean and cozy. I'd recommend this place.
