Happened upon Effie's while exploring the area and decided to drop in. Normally when I see large burgers like this, they are "fun".This burger was a classic "diner" style, well seasoned, good sear, toasted bun etc. Now you just have to scale that normal comment to 2 - 1 pound patties and probably 12" bun that you can cut in quarters and share. If anyone is comparing burgers this size. This one beats the Meers Longhorn Burger in OK hands down.So novelty you can actually enjoy, in a neat little place, with friendly folk.
The hamburgers are huge. I would guess about 10 inches across. The prices may seem a little high on the menu but when you order you will find out why. You had better be hungry. It is only a whole in the wall place but I would go back the next time I want a really good burger.
I first visited Effie's in the early 90's, not a whole lot has changed. The burgers are gigantic, the sides, they have scaled back on volume it seems. It's a fun place if you want a massive burger. I thought it was a little dirty, food on the floor, food in the cushions of the booth but it is what it is.
I have been wanting to go here for quite some time now and I have to tell you I am soooo glad that I did. I loved the experience. The burgers were so big, the buns were homemade. Gordon Ramsey if your out there and your reading this, you need to try these burgers. Best burgers in town. All fresh. It is weighed out at a pound of meat for a full burger and 1/2 pound for the Effie Jr.'s.
1st time there and they didn't disappoint us. My wife and I split the new effects burger and an order of onion rings. Could only finsh half the burger. Great tasting burger and onion rings. Wish we had one back home.
Delicious burgers! Bring a friend, because their burgers are huge! The restaurant is small and outdated, very nostalgic. The atmosphere gives a small town, close knit feeling. If you ever visited or lived in a small community (like I have) you’ll know what I’m talking about. Each time I’ve gone there the waitstaff is always friendly making sure our needs are met. Oh, did I mention the food is delish? Yes- go try it!
Huge burgers. The burgers were great, but my chicken strip were overcooked. Overall great service and nice place.
Burger was huge and very good. The wife and I split the burger and still could only eat half of it. Place was clean and friendly staff. We will go there again.
The burger was bigger than my head and super delicious, the lady was super nice . It reminded us of an old school restaurant. Lil mom n pop stop. Definitely going to take people there, and suggest it. And we will be back, it was cool
One of our favorite burger place. We have a family of 6 and leave beyond full every single time. The kids love that they can play pool or throw darts while waiting to we eat. Yummy!!!
