I want to thank Smitty's for taking such good care of my baby sister! She stopped in, with her husband, and requested a table away from other tables because she is terminal with leukemia. I am in tears because they went so far above and beyond to take care of her. She has so many people who love her so much! Thank you Smitty's! Next time I'm up there you will definitely get more business. ??
Best sourdough pancakes I’ve ever had
First time in Idaho Falls. I heard this place had great pancakes. Maybe we overshot the expectations? I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to food. It just wasn’t great- but it wasn’t bad- and it wasn’t good. I know everyone is short staffed, so I’ll take that into consideration when it comes to the staff. I’ll stick with what I know.
Convenient from the freeway if you are traveling. Like the decor. Coffee is less expensive than at most other restaurants. Many reviews rave about the meals. Husband liked their pancakes from an age-old recipe. I thought they were slightly too sour tasting. French toast seemed a little light on the batter but the egg and bacon were perfectly cooked well done and crispy. Food was good but maybe other dishes are the ones to choose. Come and see for yourself.
I overheard that Tuesday is their busiest day. Some asked since the service seemed slow. Or, did they not have enough help, unable to find help, or early for the next shift. The later might have been our timing since things picked up, shortly. The place was indeed busy on a Tuesday at 10:45 am. We were seated after a short wait. The waiter was friendly, pleasant and attentive/quick with those in a time crunch. Fried Chicken Lunch - 8.99 Protein Omelette - 11.99 Coffee - 1.89 Food was good. Clean and pleasant environment. Booths and tables were in nice condition and comfortable. Clean restrooms, which often can tell you a lot about a restaurant. When people left, we observed a thorough cleaning of the table and seating.
Shrimp dinner - bring a big appitite! 10 Jumbo shrimp and 2 sides of equal size big servings. French toast (Manager's special) was delicious!
They’re food is decent, but I ordered the Smitty’s Famous Chef Salad. (Which is $10.99 and the most pricy on the menu). More than half of my salad looked bad, and unsafe to eat. It was definitely not worth the price.On the other hand, my husbands food did turn out great. I gave a low rating just because my salad looked old, and thought it was not worth it.I guess everything else is good, expect the salad??♀️
This is a great breakfast place. Prepare for a wait as it is very popular. Especially on weekends for breakfast and brunch.
Stopped here while traveling. Menu was big. Something for everyone. Large portions good for sharing. Omelette was really good. Crepes typical. Hash browns I could have done without. I asked for them extra crispy and they were barely browned. Service was good for a coffee shop. We would stop here again.
