Normally I get pretty good service at your restaurant. But the last few Times not so much. And it wasn’t even really busy considering there are 5 waitresses here. Could not get anyones attention. And finally when our waitress did come she walked off before I finished my request. When she did come back I asked for a beer. She never came back. So I had to go to the bar and get it myself.
First time at the Frosty Gator and we'll definitely be back for more! The beer-battered chicken strips were huge and delicious. The steak dip sandwich was good, and the toasted bun was a really nice touch. The Gator Chips are a must for anyone who loves kettle-cooked potato chips. That's all we tried today but we'll be back to try more, and hopefully they'll get gator back in stock by then (it's out of season).
Just average.Upon entering The Frosty Gator, I wasn't instantly impressed. The interior is a little drab and the table tops were sticky. A coworker & I dined here during lunch and it was pretty empty. The pot stickers were okay, nothing special about them. Actually, you can probably get these in the frozen section at Costco. They were also out of dipping sauce so the waitress just gave us soy sauce. As for the Applewood Smoked Wings, I'd say "'meh". I definitely had higher expectations. The smoked flavor was there but the wings were overcooked & dry.I was pretty disappointed when our waitress told us they ran out of gator. That's probably the biggest reason I wanted to dine here.Service wasn't great. We weren't greeted for several minutes after walking in and were often left waiting for water refills. There's definitely a very "chill" vibe from the servers.I may come back at some point to actually have some gator. Other than that, I'll pass.
It has been at least 15 yrs since I have visited this location- I was beyond surprised at how good their food was. I was expecting bar food and got way more. Recommend the potato skins. Salad and veggies were fresh. Waitress Hailey was very busy and gave great service.
Super over priced bar food.Went in to try gator tail - they didn't have any and haven't had it for months. Wouldn't be a big deal except that they sat us and let us order drinks and appetizers before they felt the need to tell us that they were out of alligator.Giving it two stars because the service was slow and the food was way over priced for the quality - paid $50+ for a salad, fish sticks, and small cups of unpalatable chili. We won't be going back.
Good food, but overpriced. I was charged 2.95 to substitute a salad for a side, another 2.95 to substitute a half bowl of soup for a side, then still charged the full 4.99 for the half bowl of soup. They also charged me 1.50 for a 2oz bleu cheese dressing without notifying me of the upcharge. Almost $13 just in upcharges! Won’t be going back anytime soon with charges like that.
I'm amazed at how a couple of guys (looked like mostly 1 guy) in a small kitchen can put out such a wide variety of food, and execute it so well. We tried several items and all were great. Next time I'm getting some sort of fried cod (sandwich, taco, whatever) because that was crispy and moist and with a perfect aioli on the toasted hoagie. In fact, we noticed that nothing here was over-sauced, which was good. (Maybe ask for extra sauce if that's your thing.) The gyro was great, with fresh crispy (not wilted) lettuce and a tzatziki that is greener than most--maybe dill? All in all excellent. Our server, Pat, was always there to refill drinks and check on us. And the other server would silently check on us as she walked past, even though we weren't her table, as she was doing with every customer in there. So you won't lack for attention.
Service was bit slow but the waitress we had was very Friendly and checked up on us multiple times and the food was good. Would not recommend if you have a 1h lunch break, however I see myself coming back for a drink and some good food!
Nice people. Great food and beverage selection. Dog friendly deck (all weather) New favorite place for a casual beer and meal.
The bartender greeted us and made us feel welcome here. Unfortunately the beers on tap all had a funky flavor (soap maybe?) and the floor was pretty sticky. I’d recommend for the service and friendly locals at the bar, but maybe go with a canned drink.
