AWESOME great food good service
Don’t let the exterior keep you from walking inside. The inside is very welcoming and the food is top notch. My favorite is the 3 quesa tacos! I bring my kids and they love it here. They have a jar of marinated carrots and other veggies in the corner. We always take a bag of it to our table and munch on it while we wait for our food. My new favorite Mexican place in Idaho Falls. NOTE: there are stairs to get inside and up to the restaurant
Idaho Falls is lucky to have more than a few good Mexican restaurants. Of them all, Calakas is my favorite. Very delicious food and friendly staff.
First time here. Came on a recommendation from a trusted source. Will definitely come back to try more if the menu. Had the Birria Tacos today and they were absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Certainly nothing fancy, but it does the job. Definitely recommend to anyone who like authentic Mexican food.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I've eaten at maybe ever! been here several times and have tried something new each time and all have been phenomenal, quesadillas, torta, chille relleno, Birria and their watermelon agua. Best Mexican rice I've ever had. They do have odd hours and are closed at certain days you wouldn't expect and close early so just check their times before heading over.
I tried this place for lunch one day a few months ago. I have now been just about every week since. There isn't a thing on the menu that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed! See yah, Tuesday!
This is the BEST place for Mexican food in Idaho. Everything is scratch made, the staff are friendly and will recommend with honesty.
Pretty good place. I’m always down for an establishment with a unique layout, and this place has it. Good on the top floor, bar on ground floor, and dance floor below.I came in the afternoon for lunch with some coworkers and the food was pretty good and I got it quickly. Definitely a unique place in Idaho Falls worth checking out.
Love the insides of this little restaurant! The Flautas were alright, but what others in my group ate looked amazing. Certainly going to go again and try something else.
