Me and my fiance we were met with a terrible fishy smell shortly after being seated. I ordered spam musubi, California roll, and the toro nigiri. The rice in all these dishes was hard and old... Everything we ate was salty and bland. I dont understand how something could be so flavorless. The water was the best thing we had here tonight. Another thing is the tuna had a large strip of fat, it wasnt trimmed properly. Spent almost $80 for nothing but disappointment. Go elsewhere even if there's a long wait.
Walked into Takara Japanese, firstthing I noticed was the ambiance.Busy, Happening atmosphere.Service was a bit slow.Dinner was tasty ?Only issue we had..We ordered Maguro Sashimi, our waiter served us another kind of fish, without checking with us. Werefused the order & sent it back.We probably was there on an Off night. We'd Takara a 2nd try, If we're ever in Coeur D'Alene again.again,
Honestly the best sushi I have had in a long time. We also had the wagyu rib eye which was excellent as well. I love the renovations and the new layout. My only complaint would be the waitress who acted put out to have to serve us. I was super excited about Takara coming back and she was a real buzz kill and had both of us shaking our heads with her poor attitude. Despite the service I would highly recommend and will be back often. Fantastic food and atmosphere
Nothing short of amazing. Service was perfect and the Sushi was phenomenal. Will definitely become a date night spot for the Hubs and I ?

Beautiful atmosphere.Great service. The sashimi was the best I have had in Cda. My wife's Bento box was a picture perfect combination of food.Everything was delicious service was great. Best lunch we have had in a long time.
Very nice, clean, fun environment. The quality of the fish itself is on another level and exceeded my expectations. There are tons of options other than sushi and fish which makes it a great place even for my friends and family who want other things. The wait staff was always checking in, making sure we were taken care of as well.Great experience. Will be back.
Kobe burger is amazing!Godzilla roll was good, minus getting a bone in it. But still really good flavor!Las Vegas roll was not disappointing either!
Just finished my Birthday Dinner and Wow, was it ever fabulous! Super fresh fish, extensive menu and friendly efficient wait staff. Takara is the best Sushi I’ve had in Idaho and can hold its own in the entire PNW. Our new go to place for Sushi in North Idaho.
I don't get many dates nights so I was very glad to have picked such an amazing spot. I was reminiscing the whole time! Kenta has outdone himself with the remodeling and bringing back the great Takara! Heather, our server, was amazing and very friendly! The food was FRESH. Really all I need to hear when it comes to sushi. The rolls are creative and delicious and I never had to wait for sake? can't wait to see what else Kenta brings for us this summer!
