We tried Sweet Lou's for the first time last night. I had the shrimp tacos which were pretty alright however i did choose to add avocado, but my cousin got the Mac n cheese because that's usually a safe bet. Wrong. In this case if you don't like Velveeta you will not like their Mac. The restaurant does not have liquor but they do have beer and canned cocktail beverages. I did enjoy the seating area, you can choose inside or out in the warmer months and the atmosphere was pretty good.

5 ⭐ review. Sweet Lou's was recommended to me by a friend and her recommendation didn't disappoint. Arrived and asked for a table for 6. We were told it would be an hour wait. Not 10 minutes later we were sat. The woman that we had interacted with was beyond great. After being sat she came over several times smiling and interacting with us. Making sure everything was up to our standards. We ordered a couple of apps. Let me tell you. The onion rings are unbelievable. If you like great tasting crunchy onion rings. You will not be disappointed. Next time we are in CDA we are just st going to order the onion rings. We also ordered the pretzel. Another great choice. I ordered the fish and chips and that did not disappoint. Crispy, thick pieces of fish that was cooked perfect. The atmosphere and ambiance was excellent. Even though they were busy we got our food fast. The woman who I thought was the hostess was actually the manager. Very friendly happy and upbeat. Will definitely be going back.

I ate at Sweet Lou’s in Coeur d’Alene for the first time on Monday, April 25. 2022. I went for lunch with my wife, our two small children (5-year-old and 2-year-old), and my in-laws. It is in a cool spot and the restaurant is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The menu offers plenty of options, including a children’s menu.We ordered onion rings for an appetizer and they were large, crispy, and delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich. To be honest, my sandwich was a little dry and was simply average. French fries didn’t seem to be cooked to perfection. Also, it took a long time to get both our appetizer and entrees. For Monday lunch, I would have thought we would have been served in a prompter manner.Sweet Lou’s has a lot going for it but I wasn’t impressed with the food or service. The next time we visit CDA we will most likely go somewhere else.

Out of 4 take out dinners, only 1 order was correct. We ordered Mahi tacos but got chicken tacos (and the chicken was dry). The kids menu item had fry sauce instead of blue cheese. And most disappointing was the gourmet grilled cheese. We asked for no tomato and no mayo, and got only tomato and mayo (tomato not shown in picture). The sandwich was missing the bacon, basil spread, and havarti cheese. The sandwich was inedible. Ordering here was a total waste of money and we will never do it again.

We were near the lake for the day and found this to be a close option for food and excellent choice it was. The kids were full when we left and we were too. Plenty of options for drinks and worth the wait. Will make sure to stop again the next time we are in town.

Ordered dinner from there tonight. Great food. Very tasty burger.

Really good experience during Restaurant Week!Appetizers were the egg rolls stuffed with cream cheese/shredded cheese mixture and calamari. The egg rolls were really flavorful and the calamari cooked perfectly. The majority of us got the lobster roll for our entree and it was better than expected! Great flavor and not heavy on the mayonnaise at all. Desserts were the Ghirardelli brownie, chocolate chip cookie, and chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. Each one provided a nice sweet bite to end the meal! They have a house IPA brewed by Laughing Dog that we really enjoyed as well!

There is nothing better on a beautiful day than the view from Sweet Lous! They have good food, great service and the best view in this little lake town! I love it here. The shrimp tacos have a sweet Chile flair and are so crispy and delicious! I recommend them!

Our server was on top of everything. Did was good. The place is smaller than I thought but very it's great in summer time when they can open up to the outdoor seating!
