What a lovely experience. The drink menu is worth a try. It was phenomenal. They are creative and fresh. Try the Ceasars ghost for a tropical delight. I ordered the Hamachi to start, the fish was exceptional in texture. I generally prefer it sliced a bit thinner with some citrus to brighten it. For my entree I had the lasagna. It was very good but expensive. For dessert I had the basque cheesecake which was exceptional. The staff was attentive and awesome. Give it a try
More than a meal, an experience!A friend of mine attended a work dinner and had nothing but great things to say about the food and atmosphere. She definitely did not oversell it. From the starter to the dessert the food was delightful! The Lively not only lived up to my expectations but greatly exceeded them!
Been here many times and finally writing a review. Lively is the closest place to NYC fine dining experience right here in Boise. Great food, amazing vibes. Best to make a reservation in advance and get a table in the upstairs dining area. Menu changes pretty regularly so definitely ask servers for recommendations if you need!
This a fantastic little restaurant set inside a historic downtown Boise building. It's atmosphere is upscale yet inviting and the layout of multi floor service bars and restaurant seating is unique. The food is fantastic and the bartenders on point. I highly recommend The Lively.
Loved everything!
This was my go to restaurant..With this last experience it looks like i will not be returning. When the main course was brought to our table it seemed like the food sat in the window for a while. It was semi-cold and had started to form that old food consistency, clumpy and crusty. One of the entrees was sold to us as the best lasagna blah blah blah. After the first bite it just tasted like a slab of dry pasta. After peeling off the layers there was nothing in it. Maybe you would see small scattered piece of meat but nothing else. When addressed to the server, he claimed that its the ‘style’ of lasagna, but offered to bring more sauce. You mean the sauce that was dried up and was supposed to be in between the sheets of pasta? OhhhhKaaaay. After this we had to call in a 2nd opinion. We asked another person from the restaurant if this dish was how it was supposed to be. They eventually took it away offered something else. From the service side my Wine glass hit the bottom and remained dry for a while as several staff members walked by. I had to ask a different sever for a refill. After 2nd time the glass went dry just gave up asking for a larger bill. What’s the common thing i hear about Boise ‘it’s Boise’ Sad…

We had the Cote de Beouf-$145.00 for 2. The meat was fantastic!! Great flavor, cooked perfect ($10.00 more than what we were told but it was delicious) Creamed spinach ? fries very good. Wine was great. Salad was ok. Hot chocolate and bienets(sp?) Best dessert! It would be great if you could have the option to choose veggie & sides. Green beans is asparagus would have made it 5/5. Service was excellent!!!
The Lively hits all of the notes of an eloquent meal and experience. There is no other restaurant in Boise that delivers like the Lively. Great service that doesn't overwhelm you, a truly one-of-a-kind experience. The food is delicious and innovative. The decoration and interior creation are reminiscent of European design and flare.
