We have been going here regularly over 4th of July weekend for 3 years. Went in tonight had a group of 15 were refused to be seated even if our group would split it. What a joke, this is our favorite place when we come to Boise. Weill never come back here again! What a joke!
It was delicious. The spicy sangria tasted like you were drinking a spicy flower I can’t even explain it. Delicious
Second bad experience before even sitting down. First time came with a group of friends. It was empty and outdoor seating was open. They told us they couldn’t seat us because it was going to be busy in the next 30 min. So we left to a different restaurant across the street and watched the place the whole time. It did not get busy the whole time we sat there across the street .Second time we made a reservation for 6. Our niece who was in town decided she wanted to come too. So we had 7 people. We came in and they made a huge deal how we couldn’t squeeze one extra person it. Mind you it was 7pm and not packed or busy.So we left and had to find somewhere else to eat.Never coming here again. The guy in the photo is the same one from both times.
After seeing all the great reviews, I decided to try out Funky Taco. I came in and sat at the bar and was pleasantly greeted with a F bomb when the bartender realized she forgot to give a menu to the guy next to me. Nice.After ordering my Thaico taco, I was nonchalantly asked if I wanted some chips and salsa (this is on the menu, but I didn’t see it, totally my bad). I was brought a GIANT plate of unsalted chips to the tune of $6.75 with some weak salsa that I could get at Baja Fresh. I guess I am confused why you would offer a full sized app to a single dude at lunch. I was expecting a few chips and a 1oz cup of salsa like most other places provide gratis.Time for the taco now, it’s gonna be great right? Wrong. The tacos are beautiful, and the plating is impeccable. The problem was in the balance of flavor. The Thai curry flavor dominated the entire dish. No taste of chicken, just meat and curry. Asian slaw? Lost in the great sea of curry. Sesame aioli? Nah brah, more curry. Overall just a wet curry-meat blob in a tortilla.If you are going to have me spend close to 30 dollars for two tacos and some chips, it really needs to have a dynamic flavor profile and experience to match the cost.Mediocre service, extremely expensive for what it is, mediocre salsa, and hot sauces that are all overpowered by vinegar.Won’t be back, won’t recommend, not even with rice.
So good!! Went searching for vegan food and landed here. The workers were super friendly & let us sit outside with our pup even though they weren’t doing outdoor service. Even brought us some puppy treats and a water bowl!We were expecting good food but WOW we were blown away by the beautiful presentation and amazing taste!!! It can be hard to find decent vegan grub but this place shot it out of the park. The nachos were ?. Like seriously.Thank you so much for your kindness, helpful service, and wonderful food. It made our long road trip a bit more bearable. Recommending your stop to all our family!!
We sat at the bar and asked the bar tender for suggestions on drinks and food. He did not disappoint! Our GF & DF person ended up with the biggest plate of food out our all of us. Which if you are GF or know someone who is, you understand how cool that is. The food was top notch. Flower Power Tacos - 10 out of 10 Bahn MiMi Tacos - Days later he still talks about them Korean Pastor Nachos - Even Dairy Free version was amazing Bean & Cheese Burrito - Delicious
Always impressed by Funky Taco! Great food. I love that they have healthy options for individuals like myself with digestive issues. Who knew fried rice bars would be absolutely divine?!

I love this place the atmosphere is super fun and and the food is delicious!! I got the Bahn mi tacos and they were really good I will definitely be back to try the res tod the vegan options.
