Visited this little gem on one of the busiest breakfast/brunch days of the yr & it was fantastic. The gravy on their biscuits was one of the most flavorful I've had in Boise & the biscuit itself was super tender. My daughters pancake was big & fluffy, breakfast burritos were huge, they have a few puzzles, crayons & coloring pages in the entry way for kids. Coffee & drinks were always refilled before the cups were emptied. Really great friendly service. We'll be back for sure.
Amazing breakfast and had to start with one of their prefect cinnamon rolls. Life's short eat dessert first. The rest is breakfast was equally as perfect. Will be going back for sure.
This is truly a hidden treasure! Everytime I visit, I am welcomed with a warm smile and enthusiastic greeting. You feel like you're entering a small town country diner in the middle of the city. The food choices are extensive and reasonably priced. Whether you come for breakfast or lunch, you won't be disappointed. For breakfast, you have to try "The Works" omlette!
Had some time to kill so stop by for some breakfast. Great atmosphere, service and Mom and Pop fill. I fully recommend this location.
Fun little hidden away cafe. Great for groups of six or fewer, but larger groups (like ours was) may find it difficult to sit together as the cafe is small.Food and service was good. A few of our groups orders got goofed up a bit, but the service was good otherwise.
Great hidden gem in Boise, good food, awesome staff, funny polite, very accommodating. Its busy, but in just the right way, we waited for about 10 minutes for a table. But most people were sat right away, we just caught one of those moments. If you have a large party, call them in advance.
The Chef’s Hut ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Located in the Franklin Business Park (164 S. Cole Rd.), The Chef’s Hut is one of Boise’s best kept secrets. It is an old fashion diner that has been around since 1974. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 AM to 2 PM, they are best known for their breakfasts. The Chef’s Hut is also known for their Cinnamon Rolls. These photos are from a weekday visit around 1:15 PM. They had just taken their second batch of cinnamon rolls out of the oven. You can order trays of them for Thanksgiving and Christmas.I’m a big fan of their lunches. My go to is usually the Patty Melt with fries ($9.99). If I’m eating there, I get it with fresh cut fries, but when I ordered to go, I was encouraged to get their regular fries or beer battered onion ring. I went with onion rings and a side of Fry sauce. Both were excellent! Usually the patty melt comes on a darker rye bread, which I prefer, and is grilled a bit longer. I got a Cinnamon Roll $2.99) to go too, which I had for breakfast the next morning. It was excellent! I only wish it had raisins in it. These photos are from a visit on 8/18/21.One of the things that I love about this place is that it makes you feel like you’ve stepped back into time. There’s nothing fancy about it, but it feels like someplace you always known. It’s a kind of place where the cook will make Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes for your children. It’s the only local place I know that has Spam on the menu. They make many items from scratch. They have hand battered fish and chips on Fridays. The owner is a big animal lover, who has Corgis. During warm weather, there is a dog friendly patio outside where you can dine with your four-legged family members.Other menu items I have tried and enjoyed are:The Hut SkilletChili BurgerBLTReubenFinger Steak BasketFish & ChipsOne of the items I haven’t tried but that I’ve heard a lot of great things about is their Pesto Turkey Melt.Highly Recommended!!!
Very odd location but kind of cool in a business park. We had an hour wait in a Saturday at 11am but they did say once we got it that it was an unusually busy day.The Chicken fried steak was great, I would say in the top 3 I have had and the gravy was very flavorful. My wife had the eggs florentine half order and said it was great. Hot Chocolate was very good and rich. And the service was great even though they were slammed busy.
Good food hash browns done right. The omelette was overflowing with goodness, but my girlfriend didn't enjoy the American cheese in it. Great biscuits and lovely gravy. Very well done pancake, lightly toasted and crisp on the outside and fluffy middle. My girlfriend thought she was so hungry she needed to order 2 meals. The eggs Benedict was on point with delicious, yet not over powering cheese sauce. I would also add, while the wait staff was very busy, they were on drinks and very good service. The place has limited seating and gets very busy as it is a local go-to spot. We were seated quickly because we were there before 9 on a Saturday. Many after us had to wait 20-30 minutes but I think that they'd agree that it was worth it. just do it
Literal hole in the wall. This place doesn’t seem to belong where it is but it’s worth the adventure. Good good good employees good atmosphere. Small tip share a burrito they are huge!
