We really had a great experience tonight. Ordered butter chicken and chicken tiki masala. We also had wine and Naan bread of course. Everything was delicious. Very flavorful. Ordered medium heat and it was plenty spicy. Loved it. Naan was some of the best. I recommend the garlic. The wine pours were very generous and the service was excellent. They were obviously hustling to keep up but the communication was good and they were very friendly. Our server and the second server both made sure we had everything and were happy throughout the meal. Well decorated and nice place. Really enjoyed it.

This is hands down the best Indian restaurant. Not just “For Idaho”, but THE best Indian restaurant. I’ve been to a lot, and not just in the USA either. Before this, my favorite Indian restaurant was in Paris…this place beat it.They made everything from scratch, none of the preheated stuff you sometimes find in Indian restaurants. As soon as we got our lassi’s, we knew it was gonna be good. Handmade, with real mango and cardamom…so good! Tasted like a tropical eggnog. The spice levels were perfect. When they said hot, they mean hot. But the heat didn’t overwhelm from the rest of the spices.Only thing, it’s a little understaffed so the food did take a bit to arrive. So plan accordingly because I would hate to see the restaurant try to “improve” this by cutting corners on the food quality. It’s so good, that despite the delay we are still going back!

Second worst restaurant experience in 74 year old life. Took nephew and wife to dinner. They picked the spot so didn't want to ruin the evening by walking out. Only 3 tables occupied but had to get our own menus. Waited another 15 for water. Waited another 20 for Naan. Soupy entrees were served without rice and by this point Naan had been eaten. I had to physically leave table to: 1. Ask for more water. 2. Find out why there was no rice. 3. Check 15 minutes later as to WHY there eas still no rice. 4. Cancel rice order because we had by then eaten the soupy curry dishes without rice or Naan. On one of my trips to kitchen, indicated my curiosity about the terrible service. This caused an argument to break out between Cook and server. The server said to cook, who was admonishing him: "OH, so this is all my fault. You always make ME the scapegoat." $117 and 2.25 miserable hours later we left, with my poor nephew apologizing that he'd made such a terrible choice. My words barely convey how awful, awkward and insulting our evening was.

We love this restaurant!! We live in Nampa so we don't make it in as often as our bellies and taste buds want us to. Honestly, we hadn't been in since before covid but tonight was the night! We were so glad to see the same friendly faces and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. It has such inviting decor, and the music is loud enough to hear it and also have a conversation. The food is terrific! The smells coming from the kitchen are mouthwatering! I tried the lamb with my korma for the first time tonight and it was so very tender. I have never tried lamb before in my life but I will definitely order it again and again now! Word to the wise, order LOTS of the naan because you'll want to take some home!

Long wait time: to be seated. Note at door, "thank you for your patience, we are short staffed, P.S: we are hiring".Waited approx. Half hour to be seated, another 30-45 mins. Wait for service. Staff is welcoming and they kept us informed, delicious food, we ordered chicken biryani, loved the Mango Lassi in tumbler. Serving size is two times meal. Worth the price.Enjoyed food and ambience with hospitality.

We went to the Taj Mahal on our way from LA. My husband and I had an amazing dinner together. We ordered the tandoori platter and chicken tikka masala. They all tasted fresh, unique and so full of flavor. The garlic naan was just outside of this world. The owner was so polite with us and genuine. Plenty of Indian restaurants in LA are not even close to the food quality we had in the Taj Mahal. Good job Sohel! We appreciate your friendly service and kindness.

My rating is based on the experience my family and I had the last time we dined here (03/19/22). We pre-ordered our food 20 mins before arriving because we know it takes awhile to get food. We still had to wait 45 mins for the food which we understand because it was busy and they were short staffed. The chai that was supposed to be given during our appetizer came after all our entrees were given. They missed our order of 2 butter naans so we had to wait for that. Our alu paratha was all burned on the sides and the butter naans were burned on the bottom. We ordered all hot and very hot food but they weren’t spicy at all. Even the taste of all the food was ok (not like how it is usually). When we went to pay my husband noticed they added gratuity of $33 on their own (total bill $233). We were a party of 4 adults, 2 kids (6, 7) and a toddler. I could understand if he did that if it was a party of 7 adults but that wasn’t the case. When we asked if you count kids, he rudely said yes. I don’t mind paying tip when the food and service have been great and well-deserved. So watch out!! I thought it was ridiculous of them to count kids as a party because we didn’t even order anything for them. We got 4 entrees and we shared. The mango lassi and the appetizer was the only good thing about our meal. I would have given this a 1 star but we have been coming to this place for more then 15 yrs and have known the owners for a very long time. This USED to be our favorite place but not anymore. Over the years the food has become VERY overpriced and the service has gone down. Most of the time, we let it go because of how nice and wonderful the owners are. Unfortunately, for our family, it was our last meal there.

F A B U L O U S!! Highly recommend this amazing restaurant. Small and cozy with incredible Indian food. We were in Boise for 1.5 weeks and ate here 3 times! You can have spicy or not. We were the nots and the flavor of our dishes were wonderful. This family owned restaurant is a MUST when in Boise. You won't regret a meal here!

Awesome place! Visiting for a week in Boise and went here twice! Great friendly staff and food is second to none. We did our vegan dishes mild and no loss of flavor. Cant wait to come again.

If you have not been to Taj Mahal yet, you’re missing something special. One of my favorite family owned restaurants in town. This restaurant has a lot to offer starting from a warm welcome by the owner, green team, and various options for food tikka or Kabab. But don’t forget to try their mango juice!
