Went to Smoky Mountain on State Street. It was nice because there were hardly any people there and we were seated right away. However, our waitress refused to make eye contact with us while time giving us our water and then walked by us 9 times without looking our way once. We tried to get her attention so we could order, with no response. We asked another waiter if we could order and he was very polite and said he would get our waitress. She walked by us two more times, refusing to look our way. We ended up just leaving after 30 minutes of our order not being taken.
It has been 3yrs or more since I ate here last, not my best visit. Booth seats were dirty (both sides had a fair amount of crumbs) the food also not great. I ordered the shrimp scampi pasta and my friend had a shrimp linguini surf and turf dish. Both had so much lemon you could not taste the rest of the dish. Though my friend said her steak was good and cooked correctly. I did tell our waitress about the lemon issue. They are a local restaurant and I want to support them, these last couple of years have made it hard for businesses.
Nice experience here last night. Employees working hard. Patrons all seem to be in a good mood. Lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to when the back porch will open. The owner of this company has a magic touch on how to be a restauranteur. I don’t often feel like going out for this kind of food but it’s way better than Red Robin or other chain.
This place by far has the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever seen. I say this all the time, why chose to be in the customer service industry if you are incapable of having good customer service or the ability to be kind to people. We know that the staffing levels right now are in insane not just for the restaurant industry but for every industry and it’s hard to find solid people and that’s why we tip well because of how hard it is for you guys, but hiring about of desperation and hiring people who lack the ability to be kind and have good customer service is hurting you guys more than it’s helping you. Your front desk person ‘will’ who is answering the phones should really be redirected into another industry so he doesn’t have to come in contact with other people because he clearly hates his job and people in general. We buy thousands of dollars in gifts cards for our company employees to enjoy your food, but we will not be purchasing from you guys anymore in the future. Get better employees or train better
Very disappointing, for my daughters birthday and we were treated like trash. My son has a speech disability, he said the word juice weird and I then heard another waiter make fun of the way my 6 year old son. When asked how the food was I stated it wasn’t good, our waitress proceeded to ignore my comment and just handed us a bill with our in touched meals. I would strongly recommend anyone from eating here. Not even the workers eat there, they DoorDash McDonald’s
I had to use the bathroom before being seated and almost left without eating! No restaurant should have such a filthy restroom! Once at the table it became obvious that the entire restaurant needs a deep cleaning from thick dust, to spatters on the wall, to the dirt crusted into the seams of the booth seating. My daughter had to ask for a clean wine glass because of a lipstick smudge. The service was good and I enjoyed my food. I have always enjoyed Smoky Mountain and love the State Street location. I won’t give up yet, but I might avoid having to use the restroom.
The Brie kisses on their appetizer list are incredible! They are flaky on the outside and gooey inside with the melted Brie. They come with an awesome jam with a jalapeño kick. I didn’t even get a picture because I was so excited to eat them!
Quite possibly some of the worst pizza I've ever eaten. For the price ($50 for 2 xlarge pizzas that aren't even that big) you would expect something decent. Everything from the dough to the toppings was terrible.
Food was good as always... service was ok ... had to find the server sitting in a both playing on his phone to ask for boxes and my check .... other than that everything was awesome... very good price for what we received.
You guys rock!! The service is amazing and the food is great. The dessert outstanding!! Much love n Respect! Highly recommended!! I will definitely will come back.
