I went there today it was amazing. They have a new menu and I am so excited to try everything. The food was delicious. It took some time for the food to be cooked, but it was well worth the wait. The staff was super nice and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for fans of Indian food. There is also a Hindu temple in the same building
In town on business. We were in the mood for Indian food and happen chanced passing by here. The Chicken Tikki Masala was exactly what we were wanting and very good! And our waitress Andrea was excellent. Very friendly and attentive.Don't let the location discourage you. It's very clean and decorative, with Bollywood on a TV. :) Fun atmosphere. We recommend eating here.
While staying down the street at Hampton inn I decided to come check out this place. I ordered my food to go, the hostess was very nice and informative. I don’t eat a lot of Indian food so I told her what I was craving and she had some suggestions. The food was AMAZING. The chef did a fantastic job. I felt the food was flavorful and filling. I will definitely be back soon before I leave the state!
Great little Indian restaurant. They served the best garlic Naan and sweet Naan I've ever had. Don't be put off by the location.
Tried Saffron for the first time tonight, my wife and I loved it!! Highly recommend! Our waitress Andrea was very kind and helpful. We had tikka masala with garlic naan wow!! Will be back soon
To be honest the only thing good was the Naan. The Chicken Vindaloo was cold, had 3 pieces of chicken and the sauce was like treacle and had no curry taste at all, let alone very mild. The rice was also cold (re heated) and was a mix of saffron rice and regular white rice. This restaurant reminded me why I should never buy an Indian curry in America. Gross.
We tried this restaurant while visiting Boise. We had the sampler appetizer, basket of naan and chicken tikka masala. The app was pretty good. The naan was great and included multiple types (regular/plain, garlic and wheat). The chicken was pretty good. Overall, for Indian food, this place was just average. Most of the food came out just barely warm; it appeared that they were short handed, so likely the issue. Also, they didn’t have any sodas, tea, etc to drink—just water, beer or wine. Maybe just an off night? Anyway, don’t think we’ll go back.
Saffron is an awesome place to eat! The is authentic and very very good. Andrea was the host and took our order, she did a great job. I’m a big fan of Indian cuisine and Saffron is my favorite spot in boise.
Maybe I can't speak for a lot because I specifically went there to try a dish I had heard about called Chicken 65, but I was very pleased. The item was something of an a la carte but was well worth the effort. I ordered takeout and the service was VERY polite and friendly, all the mentions of the girl that is there are true, truly a welcoming and friendly environment. It is in a bizarre location, but I would recommend based on my first experience. Sorry for no photos, I was just grabbing and driving so the chicken didn't last long enough to photo ?. They very obviously cook to order and are a small business with only a few employees, so bear that in mind, this is NOT a fast takeout place, give them a solid 30 minute minimum warning if you wanting to get in and out.Side note, ever go in a place and can tell they actually care if they are doing a good job, this place was definitely one of those rare spots.
Very cute restaurant with very well done food presentation, went here to try Indian food for the first time and I did not enjoy it. I bit into what I think was half a stick of cinnamon and cut up my mouth while eating lamb rice and left crying. Was not a fan of the flavor, whole thing tasted like cinnamon. But I can tell it was well made just not my taste. I probably should've ordered somthing else, I hope to come back some day and try somthing diffrent. Garlic Naan bread was amazing. I would definitely give this place a try if you enjoy Indian food.
