I haven’t been here in a few years but I remembered it being really good so I was excited to try it again. The two specialty rolls I got were not good. The yellowtail tuna in my Godzilla roll looked and tasted like wet cat food. I have NEVER had sushi that tasted like that. The other roll was fine but it was about 90% rice and not really worth how much I paid for it.
Food was bad, atmosphere was tense. I felt like we waited so long for our sushi that there was no way to justify the “all you can eat” thing even with practically no one in there. The sushi tasted really bitter and there were ingredients I didn’t even recognize even with the menu in front of me. Save your money and pick somewhere else.
The food is not good. The rice tasted old and overcooked, the fish was tasteless with a strange metallic tang to it too. The tobiko was almost completely tasteless aside from the taste of an old fridge, and the salmon roe tasted like literally just squeezing a fish oil pill into my mouth. The dragon roll is too sweet, and most of the protein looked to be of low quality. I tried about a third of the menu in an attempt to find something worth eating and mostly finished out of a need to be polite. The service was okay but not great- I don’t blame them, but I will not return nor recommend this place. 30$ for a meal that I liked absolutely none of it? Heck no!
The sushi was okay; not mind-blowing or memorable. But what was memorable (in a not-good way) was the service. The waitress was unapproachable and slow. She never asked us how we liked our sushi or if we needed refills of our drinks. My husband and I considered ordering more on the All You Can Eat menu, but we weren’t willing to wait ANOTHER hour for just a couple of rolls. We will not be returning.
1st time at this location. Food was OK for sushi. Rice to protein ratio not what I expected about 75/25 rice to protein.. Some food safety concern and cross contamination issues not easy to over look when food is stocked and prepared in front of you. Most of the proteins seemed to have appropriate appearance. This location would have earned a solid 3 star except the staff are amazing with customer interface earning a fourth star on their own. Some food safety training is strongly recommended. The owner need to do a deep clean on the place and a image refresh would not hurt. This is the kinda place that could be 5 star with a little investment in staff sanitation training and portion balance. To the staff thank you.
The food is great but the service is terrible...The waitress take forever to come take your orders.. Usually with an all you can eat sushi the waitress will come take your orders an keep checking with you for your next roll.. But the waitress here has you waiting about 20+ mins after or she just forgets the food it self is good but the service there just has really gone down hill. I will be finding another sushi spot to go to
My favorite sushi place ever! Can't wait to have some IOU sushi next time I go home!
So where do we pay? How long do we have to wait... food was bomb and everyone's nice. But the waitresses are worthless, super nice, but they don't do anything... no refills, and have been sitting here waiting for someone to take my money. Best to sit at the bar because they won't follow up on new orders for all you can eat.Seriously thought best sushi... needs actual servers.
no customer service. took them like 20 minutes to take our order and i waited there for like an hour. people would come in and get their food before me and even after being told my food was on the way i waited for 20 minutes and they still did not deliver the food so i left. i had been there for over an hour and still never got my food. the staff wasn’t telling me why my order was taking so long either. the only good thing about this visit was me and my gf drawing on a napkin, don’t go here it’s a waste of your time.
I think there is new ownership! We have been frequenting IOU for 10 years. In our last two visits the quality of the fish and the overall quality of the food is poor. The rice is also of poor quality and overcooked. We are very disappointed and will be in search of a different restaurant to get our sushi from.
