Just moved to town and have been enjoying trying all of the coffee shops, but Form & Function just moved to the top of my favorites. Light, clean workspace, lots of seating, great customer service. Love the upstairs workspace. Great music - love Frank Ocean.Only qualm is that alternative milk is an additional fee.
Ordered a cappuccino and a pour over to go.Both were absolutely wonderful and I was delightfully surprised that cappuccino had a little coffee art on top! Most places wouldn't take the time on a to go order. The cappuccino was one of the best I ever had and can't wait to go back.Loved the vibe of this coffee place.Clean, modern, and brightly lit areas with lots of places to sit.
Super disappointed on this place. Super snooty. Owned by the same people as the district but night and day difference. I moved in a block away and was so happy to have it so close to my house. Unfortunately, after trying it three different times, I went back to the district despite it being farther away. The drinks and food are on par, besides the smaller sizes at form and function, which I could have dealt with. The problem is the staff. They are so very snobby. I've tried to make pleasant conversation and small talk with them while they serve me and most have an air about them like it's a chore to talk with you. Everyone at the district is so kind and nice and down to earth. I'm not sure what is going on here but I'll go the extra distance to get treated with kindness and respect.
Smooth and delicious almond milk latte, tasty avocado toast (w/poached egg), cleanrefreshing kombucha,
My husband and I were very excited to try this coffee shop, but unfortunately it was not what we expected. We had to wait for our barista to finish up using his phone for him to take our order. After we ordered he proceeded to take two more orders after us. We waited and eventually sat down to wait. We noticed the people who ordered after us got their drinks before us. We kept waiting and we soon realized he was cleaning up and announced that they were closing in 2. We arrive a bit over 20 minutes before closing. We were quite upset he forgot to make our drinks. I get it, mistakes happen, but the whole experience was not okay. We had to ask him about our coffee. Aside from everything the coffee tasted great, you pay a bit more for what you get but that’s okay. I felt like they used quality ingredients so I’m more than happy to pay a higher price. We left and walked over to Trader Joe’s and the cashier asked where we got our coffee. She said that Form and Function had really good coffee, we agreed. Unprovoked she said it was a shame they have terrible customer service. I was speechless to say the least! According to other reviews online it wasn’t just an off day but a common occurrence. I was hoping to find a local place where I could buy quality coffee in large quantities, but this place isn’t it. I hope to change my review if I return.
It certainly LOOKS nice, but I felt that the coffee tasted as if the weird plastic cup it came in hadn't been sufficiently cleaned in the dishwasher. Both my friend and I felt something was a bit off with our coffees. However, the pastries were quite good.
Hipster coffee shop, great drinks, small breakfast menu is awesome. Knowledgeable staff and have always been friendly. Cool spot to hangout, modern vibe with an open concept makes it a little loud sometimes, not excessive, but not a sleepy coffee shop. In my regular rotation of coffee shops.
My favorite coffee in Boise! Love the cool, modern, clean vibe. Literally THE BEST avocado toast I have ever had in my life!!
The modern east side of Boise. No surprise to see new shops pop up in the latest real estate developments that's been exciting people, as the city's Central Addition Master Plan gains momentum.Located on the first floor of the fancy Fowler building, Form & Function takes advantage of the modern architecture and the wide sidewalks that serve nearby Boise Brewing so well. Fresh designs like the loft support the vibe and provide space for patrons to bring their laptops.Coffee is solid, staff friendly, pastries are fresh. Hold your next city council meeting here.
Overpriced and mediocre. Latte was alright but the avocado toast was just depressing. Also agree with the other comments that the baristas are super unfriendly. The stools are uncomfortable as well and make it hard to be productive if you're trying to get any work done.
