I really wanted to taste an amazing pork Schnitzel. This was ok but not great, and the fries were HORRIBLE! greasy and way undercooked raw!! Terrible experience!! A true Schnitzel just has the Pork, mustard and a bun. Not mayo stirred with cucumber juice, no cucumbers, no onions, no tomatoes and not on a pretzel??bun?? I just got a Schnitzel sandwich and a handful of HORRIBLE, soggy oily, raw strips of potatoes. BAD just BAD! I paid close to 17 bucks for that Horrible meal!! Never again.
Great sandwiches and soup!!!! friendly staff.
Our first visit here and it was awesome! I had toasted salami sandwich and husband had a pastrami sandwich, both of which did NOT disappoint! super yummy! They have all kinds of beer, German I assume, I don't drink beer so I didn't look closely. They have a little market area with all kinds of German goods. We bought a loaf of Christ-Stollen, but haven't eaten it yet. It just looked too good to pass up. Highly recommend this deli, you will not be disappointed!
This is by far my favorite place in Boise. The food is excellent, the beer is outstanding, the service is wonderful! I’ve been here so many times that I’m ashamed I haven’t left a review before! If you love German food, jovial service and beer, you had best come here. Guten appetit!!!
very expensive for the quality and very small portion they serve. everything is expensive! not recommended!
Planned all day on eating here. We saw that the kitchen closes at 6:30 per their website. We arrived exactly at 6. There was a handwritten sign on the door that said the kitchen closes at 6. We went inside to check, and they said it was from yesterday and to come on in. The gentleman from the kitchen yells CLOSED. The two employees laugh and tell us it's closed. Do you know who didn't think it was funny?!? Me. Why close 30 mins early? From a business and service standpoint, it makes no sense. I get people have their reasons but be respectful and apologetic about it. I've always enjoyed my experiences up until then and I'm sad to say, not sure if I'll return.
This place is a complete gem. I hadn’t been in a while and they have expanded their menu and beer selection. I liked it before, and it’s like they just have me more of what I want. The food is delicious and the selection of beers is pretty extensive between draft and bottles. No one should overlook this place.
Wow! What a find this place was! If you've ever been to Germany, bor Austria, and loved it, you will absolutely love this place too and conjure up great memories while you're there. They serve German food just like you remember, and are a store full of wonderful goodies you didn't know you were missing, or maybe you did. Happy shopping und guten appetit ?????
First time to visit. Ordered sandwiches and soup at the counter and waited 15 minutes for food to be prepared and served. You can order German beer on tap to enjoy with your meal. Depending on the German beer you order (e.g. Lager, Kölsch, weissbier [hefeweizen, dunkelweizen, etc.]), you will get the appropriate Stange or Weizen or etc. glass. The dining area has 4-6 small tables (2-seaters) plus two larger bench tables that can seat 4-6 people each. Patrons are responsible for bussing their own tables. Relaxed atmosphere with German music playing (modern artists). There is also outdoor seating; as cold as temps were, there were still folks who were enjoying their beers there. In addition to the dining, there is a small market section where you will find an excellent assortment of imported goods (jellies, pastas, baking mixes, snacks, chocolates, etc.) as well as beers. The place was crowded when we visited at around 4:45 p.m. We recommend this place if you are wanting tasty German food and beer. Friendly service. Thanks for a great experience!
IF You LIKE GERMAN FOOD AND BEER THIS IS DEFINITELY THE PLACE! Awesome food, excellent service and a very good selection of German beer on tap and in the beer closet! 100% German products! We will definitely be back!
