The best Mexican food in Boise. HUGE SELECTION AND PORTIONS. Reasonable price for everything.
The good: the carne asada meat was some of best I have had. It was actual cut up steak not the ground up super chewy rat-intestine-resembling stuff you get at some taco trucks. It was flavorful and really tender. Only one to two pieces of fat in the carne asada fries and burrito combined. The burrito was amazing. Really greasy but hot and cheesy and had amazing flavor that you could taste the spices in. The price was really cheap. We got carne asada fries, enchiladas, a side of sour cream, and the California burrito with 2 drinks and it came to right under $25. The salsa bar had lots of options rangong feom mild to so spicy I had misty eyes. The carne asada fries were in the middle. Plenty of guacomole and sour cream, good fries, but the cheese was just shredded unmelted cheese and kinda blah. Not super flavorful but not bad per say.The bad: this is my biggest pet peeve with fast mexican food like here and los betos but the cheese enchiladas were cold inside. The cheese was completely unmelted inside which I cant stand. I would even prefer it microwaved a few seconds just to melt it than barely warm shredded cheese. The enchilada sauce tastes like tomato sauce with garlic powder and chili powder. None of the beautiful roasted pepper taste to normal enchilada sauce. Just very bland all together. I ended up cutting it up mixing it with salsa and tossing it on top of the carne asada friesYou get what you pay for. The burrito was outstanding but I probably would just go to a regular mexican restraunt if I was craving enchiladas. Not terrible but I wont drive over 45 minutes to go try there again.
Typical fast Mexican food, but the fresh salsa bar and the habanero salsa are amazing. They have a wide amount of meat choices including cabesa. As an odd bonus they have free coffee.Their fresh crispy beef and chicken tacos are incredible. (They aren’t on DoorDash etc because they need to be eaten fresh). One of the few 24hr places around and a great go to for some quick Mexican food.
Well the food was good and it was way more food than we were expecting!!! The salsa bar wasn't up, but it was late and they were close to closing so I really can't complain! The salsa I did get could have been a bit spicier but it had good flavor which is important!!! Friendly staff for sure and they allow for dine in even during the late hours (which you rarely find anymore) which was great!!!?
We have been frequent customers since the beginning. Today I asked for two ice waters because my kids just got out of practice. I was charged over $2 for each water. I questioned the total price and was told that their water is the cost of a small drink. I'm like it's this special water? She said no it's just fountain water ..For free water!! I expected to pay for the cups like most places but this was absolutely ridiculous!! It cost me just as much for two waters as it does for one other darn burritos. I will not be coming back. Sorry that's pure greed.
As a native CA visiting Boise I was pleased to see a Mexican restaurant that offered my favorite Mexican food at a great price. Although Tex Mex is nice, I prefer CA Mexican food. This place hit the spot. Good variety and the food was delicious. You can eat in or take out. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Boise.
Amazing! Great food great prices! The burritos and tacos are larger than anywhere else and their prices are 2-3 dollars cheaper on everything! Their fresh salsa bar is always stocked with 6 different salsas and your classic pickled jalapenos and carrots. It's always clean and the staff are diligent and hard working. Did I mention their tortillas are thin and crispy and fully loaded! They even offer complimentary hot coffee in the mornings. Try this place if you haven't already you won't regret it! I'll update this post with photos when I eat there again tomorrow! That's three times in 2 days for me! Yummm!
Excellent food for the price. The breakfast burritos are a great choice for feeding a crew. The staff is helpful as well. The dining area is not the nicest, but is good for a fast food restaurant.I would definitely recommend for take out orders.
Their food is pretty decent. But the wait times are atrocious.15 minutes in the drive-through for a burrito is a little insane. They have a big kitchen, they don't look like they're really hurting for staff...and every time I've been there they haven't been too horribly busy. And I been there quite a bit so hopefully it gets better because with Summer coming they are going to hate their lives if they can't speed it up a bit... even by 5 minutes would help
Excellent food, awesome customer service. Had the Chicken Tacos, Steak Tacos, a huge Beef, Bean, and Cheese Burrito that was 10 inches long and 3 inches in diameter!! Plus the #4 Combo plate - 2 Enchiladas, beans and Rice. For this Combo they allow you to choose the type of meat and or cheese. Simply the best
