A rainy Wednesday (3-15-2022)....Very pleasant atmosphere...Ordered draft beer and lamb grinders. Beautifully presented sandwiches and the fries and croquettes were world class. My wife and I would have liked the lamb rarer and a bit saltier but on balance the lunch was great. Our young waiter wearing a black watch cap was the very best...
I think it’s all been said. I was told to come here while in town and it in now way let me down. The grind is incredible I got two.
Excellent small little Basque restaurant. The lamb grinder is the best in town. Coquettes are a cant miss. Solid Draft Beer Choices as well.
Fantastic little Basque pub. Small but delicious menu. It's like a small town pub in the middle of downtown.
Such good food and beverages!! We travel across the state for their Croquetas and Tiger sauce ?
Great relaxed atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Fantastic food! Get the Croquetas and the Lamb Grinder.
As usual, delicious, fast, and friendly! If you've never been, try the lamb grinder with croquettes and get an IPA or stout to pair. Give that grinder a little oomph with their tiger sauce and you're set. There's also a spicy and extra spicy version, make sure to come prepared if you order those!
We really loved the vibe and the food at Bar Gernika. Have the croquetas, fried peppers and the Solomo (marinated pork loin with pimientos on a baguette). Delicious. Reasonable prices too.
When in Boise, I had to return to Bar Gernika -- three times. Yes, it's that wonderful! A special SHOUT OUT to server Chadwick who kindly and efficiently recommended the soup of the day and a specialty beer. I was fortunate to visit before the crowds (yes, standing around the block crowds!) and sat at an outdoor table, people watching, slowly sipping my soup and beer and when I returned for the third time I brought friends to enjoy this special experience. We shared the food (all excellent!) and once again, the soups are life-alteringly good and as friend Connie said with a laugh, "Fun, huh?" Bar Gernika. Good for you food, good for your soul atmosphere. If you don't know what to order, ask your server for a recommendation -- they are happy to help. No visit is complete without a visit to the Basque Museum, same block and spend some time in the Basque Market at the other end of the block. Bar Gernika - a highlight of my trip to Beautiful Boise. Thank you!
Low key, cozy pub in downtown. Simple yet impressive menu with several tasty options. The albacore tuna melt was super good! Croquettas were perfectly cooked, golden and crispy outside and warm and creamy inside. The tortilla with chorizo and manchego was very tasty as well. Lots of beer and wine selections and a few cocktail choices as well. Will definitely be back!
