Zippys is a long standing local place most locals return home from a trip and have to go get Zip Pack, won ton min, Chillie and more so if your not local you will be advised it's a must. On this evening my wife and I decided to go have Oxtail Soup [2022] first of this year. In my opinion they have the best Oxtail in Hawaii for a couple or reasons .... meat falls off the bone [ I hate biting the neat off of bone in Oxtail soup... so irritating ] soup is best flavor ever and reduced down to perfection , and has peanuts an the perfect amount of vegies. Only served with white rice and simple is how it should be. You can rate it and tell me what you think.... I was only upset about the price hike in 2022... $20 for one bowl is insane no matter how good... so what sucks is I won't be back for a long time because I can't afford it. But if you wanna compare prices it only gets worse foe here on out in our islands.. good luck on your desire find the gems ..
We enjoyed it. So much of Hawaii's historical history no longer exist. To be able to learn about the history and get the feel of riding the train was great. Keep up the great work! I hope and pray they are able to keep this going. May God bless all of you.
Zippys can never go wrong with our meals. The service having to dine in was phenomenal. The oxtail soup was the highlight of our day. So soupy and delicious. The meat was soft that it just falls off the bone. I definitely would recommend eat here. The BEST!
My mom and I went to get breakfast together. Everything was clean and we were seated pretty quick. Chita was our server and she was super nice and accommodating! She was quick to refill water and get us anything we needed even before we asked. My mom loves the waffles here and she asked to have it made a certain way. Chita was able to relay that message to the cooks and they got it out to us perfectly. I got the Won Ton Min and it was good like always. She even got me new broth for my take out. We love zippys but Chita made it worth while.
First time diner. Ordered Ox Tail soup. Outstanding. The best I've had. Also had the Korean chicken. Again, outstanding. Crunchy, flavorful pieces. Dipping sauce was a good compliment. Prices are more than what I am used to on the mainland, but this is normal Hawaii prices. Will definitely go again.
They raise prices but shrink the size of food. Makes no sense first and last getting food

Just bought my breakfast there and they didn’t let me know I needed to order on the table to be seated. I order “to go” planning to eat there but I wasn’t allowed (even having my vaccination card). Thanks Zyppy’s, I really didn’t enjoy my breakfast eating under that hot sun outside and please, let people know that in advance.
