I know the the place well and the employees are so responsible and respectful and keen to other poke shops (perhaps 9) and this one is by far the best and the freshest. !! GOEAT POKE NOW
This was a little gem, we spotted it on the side of the road and it said local so we gave it a shot, and boy did it pay off, the food was really fresh and the service was great, we will be back when we are on this side of town again, we split two flavors of the ahi poke, the garlic and the creamy flavors over a bed of warm rice complimented it very well. Overpriced.Not fresh tasting.Overly sauced.Fish too salty.Rice under-done.Ingredient proportions way wonky.Couldn't taste anything but cheese and soy sauce in my Cali bowl. If there's no cheese in it, that's greatly alarming. I wanted to taste the fish, instead I tasted just salt and cheese.Visiting Hawaii and this restaurant gave me a terrible start to food here. Never coming again for the rest of my life. Wish I could give 0 stars.
Food was good, service was terrible... bad attitude from hostess, my order was completely wrong. Ordered salmon poke got very good cooked salmon.
The good: the lady working was very nice and gave us a lot of foodThe bad: the food. The rice was not cooked all the way(ie: crunchy) and mushy because they had too much water when it was cooked. Since I already bought it, i tried to find if any part of the rice was cooked all the way, but it was a big no go. The whole bed of rice was all bad. Additionally, i think the fish was not fresh either. Something about it was off and i guess the rice being bad was a good thing because i could only eat just a small portion.It's too bad because the place has good reviews and the amount of food given was above average.

Great food with horrible service. Called 29 hours in advanced to ask if pupu platter could be ordered for pick up. My name and number was taken and was told I would be called back in 20 min. 1 hour passes and I call back. No answer with no option to leave message. Called back again later that day and no answer. Called today to see what happened and I get "It needs to be ordered in advanced and no one told me."
Went here on a weekend to order 1/2 lb of poke. Turns out it was frozen fish and not fresh. Very disappointed and felt cheated. I understand the pandemic has been hard on restaurants, but substituting frozen fish for fresh and charging $20 bucks a pound is a shame. I hope the owner, local boy Elmer, knows what's going on.
