First time here after hearing they had great bentos. Decided to try their bento which for $12 you get 2 scoops rice, fish, hot dog, teri beef and garlic chicken. They have other mixed bentos and a good sized menu of plate lunches and breakfast. Conveniently located right behind Costco Waipio
Lots of good options comes out fast. Good prices. Food tastes great, but everything looks terrific. Awesome people working there!!! I am definitely coming back.
The stew, katsu, and chicken are very good! There one knock would be that the "mini" plates are on the smaller than expected for Hawaiian plate lunches lol
We dined in and did a take out recently. First off, the gentleman taking the order does not smile...lol. It's okay though. The food here is great! They give a lot. Also, I love the coffee. It's delicious!I don't really like to eat fish but I got I gobbled them right up. I've tried the breakfast bento, Ali'i bento, fish & chips and the omlette. The garlic chicken, fish, and shrimp tempura is yummy! Just take a look at the photos. You can tell my just the photos how good the food is. Haha. (I could only find 2 photos... I had more but I may have accidentally deleted it argh). It's okay I'll be back to take more pictures lol.Parking is good. Starbucks drive thru line is super long so they block one side of the parking. But there is lots of parking.Walk in, take a look at the menu, go to the counter, and put in your order. They call out your order when it's ready and put the food on the counter. Also, you can call in your order. I've tried it and no complaints.I wanted to give 5 stars but I just couldn't cause normally if a worker is not smiling or doesn't greet, I would drop the rating super low. The food is delicious so even if the guy at the counter is mean looking... I just deducted one star. He did say thank you the last time I went. But that's it! Lol
HORRIBLE service from grouchy Asian man. Food was disastrous! Garlic chicken NOT fresh at all. It’s stewing in a warmer in what tastes more like sweet chili sauce than garlic. The chicken was tough and rubbery . Not even garlic fries were fresh… and do not get me started on the borderline spoiled Mac salad. If your food is going to be subpar your service better be immaculate, especially during these times where local businesses are hurting yet we locals are here trying to be supportive.
A small restaurant in a plaza tucked behind Costco. "Locals eat here" as it says on the menu and I can tell you yes thats true, we had our lunch here and it was delicious. Freshly cooked and the amount is plentiful. The menu is diverse so if you like options or if you were hungry from shopping at Costco, this is one place you don't want to miss since closeby makes it even better!!!
Very good Garlic Chicken plate. Staff could use some improvement on their people skills. A smile (even under the face mask) can go a long way.
I work in the same shopping center as Fatboys Waipio. Thank goodness they are here! They provide the diversity that the other eateries here don’t offer. I am hooked on their stew bowl. The flavor is consistently good and the portions generous!
I’ve tried several local breakfast diners. Fatboy’s French toast is really yummy plus the bacon is crispy not burnt like other places. Try the 2-three-2 if you’re not super hungry. The illy brand coffee to perk up your day, is really good, too.
First meal in Hawaii! Got the Ahi Katsu on special and the Haleiwa poke bowl with garlic ahi.. loved the sauces and the pork was flavorful. Very friendly staff as well. Thank you!!!
