The service was good but the food was awful. All butter and oil.

Great beach side restaurant

Great ambiance, good food and beautiful views! ❤️

Cafe Portofino had great food and the location was great as well.

Went there for a family dinner. Food was ok, although my husband ordered chicken paremsean and it was very salty. My sister ordered fish special and she had to return it because the type of fish was very dry. The waitress asked if she wanted to add some sauce to the fish.. what! The others meals were decent. However, there was a total of 9 of us, 3 different families and in this day of technology, they could not find a way to split the bill according. Why not take separate orders for each of the families... sounds like that would make more sense and keep a lot of confusion down.

Food was excellent. Service good. Host was choosy about who he would seat at which table. There were available tables by the water but he chose who was able to enjoy them at his leisure. Otherwise, a very enjoyable meal.

The salads were fresh & delicious. Service was attentive and the filet and lasagna were both superb! Beautiful location on the beach, bit of Italy ?? right here on Kauai!

Authentic Italian food in a beautiful setting

We had a reservation and were met by an elderly man who did not smile, or welcome us. After I gave him our name he just said come, and we followed him to a table. The waitress was great but had a lot of tables to look after. We received a basket of very ordinary and not very fresh bread after we had finished our appetizer. It almost seemed as an after thought. A man wandered around with about 8 baskets of bread and passed them out. It didn't seem like very personalized service. Our side plates that were covered in oil and vinegar, and the appetizer plate stayed on our table until after our entre plates were picked up. The table looked very untidy, and the wind was blowing so strong that the white tablecloth was blowing into the oil and vinegar plates. The food was good, but we won't go again.

Beautiful views, good food, attentive serving staff. Host, Maitre D', Owner, whatever he was, was pretty "stuffy" and obviously you had to be "in" with him to not be so snobby. I'd stll returned, but would expected how to be "welcomed" next time.
