The shaved ice was delicious! However, if asked about “beans or no beans,” do your self a favor and say no beans! I was thinking it may be something like vanilla or coco beans. It’s a ground azoro bean paste at the bottom of the cup that looks like refried beans, but tastes like baby food sweet peas. It really ruined a delicious ice!
We waited on line for awhile but it was well worth the wait. We were a family of six and each one of us had a different flavor of shaved ice. Everyone just loved it. You can really taste each flavor. This stop is a must for anyone going to Maui!
Line was long - lots of young people working there however they kept messing up many orders. I think they may have taken the mochi off someone's wrong order that they returned and put it on mine. I would never return.
We took advice from a local and ordered the macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom and shave ice on the top. It is crazy good! Must have Maui!
A word of warning though: be prepared to wait in a very long line at this location. Their store on Dairy Road in Kahului, I think, is less busy but with the same choices and they never run out of mochi! After having my first taste of Ululani's shave ice, I completely understand why their particular brand skyrocketed to the top. Their shave ice is delicious and it feels literally like eating a paper bowl of flavored snow. I highly recommend getting the fruity flavors like cherry, blue raspberry, apple, and calamansi. However, if you prefer a quick, no-fail choice, then Sunset Beach would be the way to go! Lastly, if.you like mochi, then it is a MUST for you to add them as a topping. Their little pillows of mochi are so soft and delicious!
Ululani’s shave ice was my favourite shave ice I got on my recent trip to Maui and Oahu. I got the kid’s size (which was more than enough for me) with pineapple, coconut and mango syrup and a snow cap (condensed milk). The syrups were thick and tasted like real fruit! I also liked the shave ice texture, which was really smooth and not super “icy”. I went after dinner at 6:45pm on a Monday and waited 45 minutes to order. It took about 5 minutes for them to make my bowl. If you want to avoid the line, I suggest going earlier!
Yum! This shaved ice is heaven. Tastes like ice cream because it is so fine and soft. Definitely worth the wait and there is always a wait! It is a must get if in Maui
This stuff is so much better than the ground ice that shows up at other shaved ice places. It is well worth the wait, as it cools you off on the hot Maui days and the kids love it.

Loved this shaved ice. So much more than a typical snow cone you usually get during the summer. Great flavors, great service.
