We’ve stayed at this resort a couple times and have frequented the pool-side restaurant. It’s quite good. Decent prices, decent food, excellent service and view. We’ll keep eating there!
This might be the worst restaurant in Hawaii. It’s prices are on par with other restaurants, but the food is just a pantomime dining out and looks like it was made by a prison chef. I’m pretty sure the ribs are just the Costco ones with some Heinz sauce squirted on them. The staff try really hard, but are pretty hopeless, and the decor hasn’t been updated since at least 1988. Not particularly scenic either (you can see the ocean past the pool if the suns not in your eyes). There’s a food truck area out front of the hotel - eat there instead. Wish I had have.
This place is awesome! We had a group of 9 and did not have to wait for a table at all. They have a great menu for kids with alot of different options (even for our picky eating kids). The adult menu had a great variety to chose from. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was on point. The French fries they have are amazing as well. They do take reservations if it's busy. It's really close to the beach and over looks the resort swimming pool area .
Stood for 10 minutes to be seated. We were the only people at the door of the half empty place. We then sat 30 minutes before anybody came to our table. Add another 15 minutes to get a glass of water. The food then came out cold. If it was not for the $10 we paid for parking we would have been gone. Avoid this place at all costs. Use the $10 in parking as a learning lesson and run away.as a fast as you can. We were told the waiter was there for 30 years. Maybe it was 30 years too long because I couldn't tell.
The food was really good, and they have several great options that are gluten-free: fish tacos, the Pacific seafood plate (highly recommended!), and some others. Just ask the server. They also have a fun drink menu with lots of 'boat drinks' in adult and virgin varieties. If you're staying at the Aston Kaanapali Shores, it's an obvious choice.
We've only ever had breakfast here. It's simple food, with Maui twist. Beautiful view-- we watched whales today while eating. Great loco moco! Service is always friendly and responsive.
Only go Friday afternoons to listen to Harry and Sissy play music while we are enjoying Happy Hour prices.
Had a delightful lunch w/gal friends up at the bar seating. You could see the ocean ? & whales ? ??? from any table in the place though. We enjoyed(shared) our meals w/ drinks & watched the bartender working hard as she joked a bit & continued serving drinks at the the pool window too. We had a Poké bowl and breaded shrimp(nothing comes with it so you just get four-ish shrimps).Mahalo ??
This restaurant is located at the resort where we stayed. It was convenient. We went there twice. The first time I had the pulled pork flatbread and hubby had calamari strips. Both were excellent. In fact, my flatbread was so good I am going to try to replicate it back home! The second time, I had fish and chips and hubby had the prime rib special. He really enjoyed the prime rib. Said it had good flavor. It was cooked to the right temperature. My fish and chips were not great. Just 2 small pieces of fish for a dinner serving. I wanted fish for dinner and this was the only option, other than fish tacos. Apparently when it is prime rib Thursday, they don't cook fish...at least that is what I was told. I also had a house salad ... Very crisp and fresh. Hostess was very friendly.
Food isn't good, nachos were the fake cheese and calamari was like weird and servers avoid you like the plague if you aren't old. Bar tender is nice enough to make a drink when you walk up but not really friendly either. Overall just annoying to feel like a place that does service and makes tips is bothering you when you to have them do their job.
