Almost gave this three stars because of our experience but food was good overall…Our issue here was with the front of house (namely the hosts). I had a 7pm reservation which we were on time for but was told it would be a few minutes. After a while of waiting the host let me know that we were the next party to be seated. However an additional 3 parties were then seated before us (some of them arrived AFTER I did). Then both hosts left the front desk for over 10 minutes while people walked in and out due to lack of service. We waited 30 minutes to finally be seated…. Next to the trash which smelled horrible. Some of our order came out quickly while other dishes we waited a long time for.The food. The garlic noodles were not good, however everything else we had was very delicious. Our waitress was nice and gave us a complimentary dessert because of the long wait to be seated. I give Star Noodle a 4/5 purely based on food, based on experience it would be much lower and overall it deters me from returning again.
Great little seaside Asian fusion restaurant that took over the old Aloha MIxed Plate location behind Safeway. Pork belly buns were awesome, and the Pad Thai is delicious. The Vietnamese crepes were not as authentic as I would like them to be. Make reservations as the outdoor restaurant is small, but the views are amazing.
We were able to have an early lunch without a reservation. Hostess was helpful and friendly. The new location is beautiful, perfect for post flight beer and pupus. Avo ahi was excellent as were the look moore fun noodles. Favorite dish was the local eggplant.
We went two separate times this trip! The first time I got the garlic noodles, and the second we shared the Lahaina Fried Soup. I can’t recommend the Lahaina fried soup enough. It was such a good dish. Pork belly and extra thick noodles…do you need more? Our server was great! We also sat at the bar one time and our bartender Johnny was great. Really knowledgeable of the drinks and menu. If you want good food, check this place out. Probably should make reservations because they are really busy!!
The food we ordered were excellent. We almost left because of the way we were treated by the lady on reception/reservation duty at about 4 pm on April 14. We arrived about 15 minutes earlier than our reservation at 4.15pm, and she directed us to sit at a seating corner. We asked if we could wait and have drinks at the bar (which had only about 1 or 2 people), while we waited for our table to be ready. She rather rudely said no, we cannot. We were wondering why a business will turn down a customer's request to be comfortable while waiting (and definitely spend more money on drinks). My suggestion here is to have front service personnel be trained to be more friendly and reasonable.
We've never eaten at the beach front location -- such a shame -- but do value being able to get a take out. Consistently good food.
Amazing food and views of the ocean in Maui. This is a must visit. Family style menus so you will be sharing your plates. Most plates feed two to four people.For a party of two we ordered four different items from the menu. Best hot and sour soup ?. Highly recommended.
This has to be one of the top food spots we've ever tried in Maui. Every single dish just blows you away. Paired with Javi's attentive service and how fast this was coming out of the kitchen, it was just the perfect night.There was even plenty of parking!The only down side? Reservations were hard to get.We're definitely coming again next time we're on the island.
We tried as many dishes as we could for our family party of 7. Our favorites dishes were the ramen, eggplant, rice noodles, bao buns with pork belly, and Vietnamese crepe. Personally,...Did not enjoy the Singapore fried noodles made with vermicelli ( a little sweet and soggy), shrimp tempura ( better batter is required as it was thick and heavy). BUT Service was quick and super friendly and overall dining experience was memorable. We made reservations a month ago to get in. You need reaervations at least this far in advance or you are not getting any. Cocktails were nice and strong... just the way they should be:-) We ended up ordering some of our favorite dishes and brought it back to our apartment.
