We ordered coconut crusted French toast with billionairesbacon, the granola yogurt "ocean bowl", smashed herb potatoes and the donut with coconut cream and every single bite was INCREDIBLE! We are super picky San Francisco type foodies and very hard to impress, this was the best meal we've had on maui in years! Our local friends directed us here, highly recommend!

Casual but quaint. Had a spectacular breakfast. I was skeptical going. So glad wife made me. Food was tasty. Bloody Mary was delicious Service great. Parking tight. Close to Lahaina marina

We heard so much abut this restaurant from reviews of the island and we could not wait to try it. The reviews we read were spot-on. Great food and service. Plenty of parking nearby and we love open-air dining. They had a great selection of food, including vegan. Give it a try, you will not be disapponted

I had my wedding rehearsal brunch at Papa'Aina this morning and WOW!!! I wasn't sure what to expect (planning a destination wedding is a fun process, but you don't get to see a lot of the venues in person before you book), but they exceeded every single expectation I had. First of all, we had booked a private room inside the restaurant in advance, but they decided to move the brunch outside to their GORGEOUS courtyard as a surprise! So when I arrived, I felt like I had walked into a dream--the sun was shining, the trees were gently blowing in the wind, the birds were singing, and there were tables and place settings just for my rehearsal brunch! The staff is incredible--quick, efficient, and the most kind and generous people you will ever meet. Every guest was taken care of, every moment of the event. The manager, Rich, was warm, friendly, and personally saw to it that every guest was welcomed and taken care of. We are so appreciative of the incredible people there that made this day a reality. The food--my friends and family were RAVING about the delicious food served at our brunch. Chef Lee Ann created culinary heaven for myself and my family. We had 3 courses and everyone left satisfied and full! I heard things like "best meal I've had in a really long time" and "food is incredible" for 2 straight hours! Everyone absolutely loved her cooking. She is simply the best!I will never forget their kindness, attention to detail, or their warm welcome. Planning and executing a destination wedding can be stressful at times, but they just took care of everything for us and we didn't have to worry about a thing today. Absolute slam dunk, LIGHTS OUT, incredible event at Papa'Aina. Thank you so much for everything!

Very good, delicious and original take on French toast, husband - the French toast connoisseur- approved. I had the breakfast ramen which was also delicious! Right by the Best Western Inn.

Food which is highly overpriced! Cappuccino which looked like coffee with milk. Poke bowl @$30 with tasteful tuna, very very little greens and a huge amount of white rice. Menu price was not included but a kitchen fee of 10% was added to the bill. Such a pitty! This was our second and absolutely last visit! $85 for a burger, poke bowl and 2 coffee’s!

We have eaten breakfast/brunch at the Pioneer Inn each time that we have been to Maui. I read that ownership had changed to a Top Chef that was one of my favorites. The menu was more limited than in the past (no doubt due to Covid), but the prices were $$$$ for smaller portions. We won't be back.

We went there at 11:30 for lunch. We were seated and the hostess told us she would be right back with a second place setting since she had only one with her. She never returned. The menu had all breakfast items on the one page menu except for 3 or 4 items. We waited 20 minutes and no one came by or even acknowledged our presence. We left and went to another nearby restaurant and were served immediately. We won’t go here again.

We went to Papa’aina on Easter Sunday and it was very good . I had the Breakfast Ramen and my wife had the French toast. Both were excellent. We used their Yelp reservation system and had a fine meal. The service was great. So why is this a one star review? We went back on April 20th and could not have had a worse experience. We checked in again on Yelp, and the hostess (Donna) was clearly in a bad mood. She was short with the group in front of us and generally rude to everyone. When she announced our name my wife told here we were there, and she snapped, “You’re on the list. You’re checked in.” Then she ignored us for half and hour. After the fifth party who came after us got seated, I approached her and told her we had been waiting. She said, “I paged you several times and you didn’t respond!” My wife told her we had checked in when she paged us and we had been standing a few feet away ever since. Then she said, “I don’t know everyone’s name here.” My wife pointed out she could have just said our table was ready and we would have responded. Donna then said, “ Are you yelling at me?” Neither of us had raised our voices. At this point we gave up and went home. For some reason she sent us a text telling us our table was ready after we told her we were leaving. I know it’s hard to find good help now, but Donna is clearly not suited for this job. We were embarrassed in front of our friends. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

We were here two weeks ago for breakfast. Out of our entire Maui trip this was one of, if not the, best meals we had on the island! We sat in the back courtyard which was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. We got a round of drinks to start our vacation off right and we're not disappointed with the bloody Mary and salty dog (both had gin substitutions for the vodka). Our server was fantastic! I can't remember her name...but she was a fellow Californian and had some killer recommendations for the menu and other local places to check out. To eat, we got the French toast and crispy ramen - I normally don't go for sweet breakfast, but as we were on vacation I went for it and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! The flavor, texture, and presentation was on point. The crispy ramen was unique, but super good. The egg was perfectly cooked, the pork was delicious, and the noodles were crispy but also softened up if it sat in the sauce.I would definitely recommend stopping by here for breakfast if you are on the West side of the island!
