I’ve stayed at Marriotts all over North America and Hawaii and am consistently disappointed when I return to this resort.I’ve stayed here over the years and have gotten the, “island view,” more times than not on lower floors. After years of hearing all kinds of excuses from, “we’re 100 percent booked,” “you need to book a year in advance,” you need to call the week of arrival,” “our owners get first preference,” I decided to fall on the sword and buy at this resort. Our daughter and grandkids live here so the choices were limited. I also could take away the excuse of, “owners get the better rooms.”So I buy a week here, book a year in advance and request a high floor. I also called a few days before to remind them of my request.Well, Im writing this review to hopefully save another dummy from buying here because upon check in and to my amazement, I got the lowest floor possible with a view of the parking lot!Don’t remember that being one of the view categories when I bought here.Management was indifferent and smirked as they told me there was nothing they could do. They did however only give the, “we’re 100 percent booked,” excuse as I’d overcame all the other objections. The lack of empathy that I’d brought my family 5000 miles for a parking lot view and the smirks were the tip of the iceberg for me!Westin and Hilton have never treated us this way and I’d suggest going to one of those resorts.
Service was incredibly slow. Two hours for dinner for two people once we were seated. We were never asked if we wanted another drink. Minimal menu, No signs showing parking for the restaurant, very confusing. It is a beautiful setting but not enough to make up for the bad. Also expensive.
A lot of people don't seem happy in their reviews so I wasn't sure what to expect when we got there. This resort was amazing. Our 2 bedroom suite was more than we thought we were getting. Very spacious and clean. I didn't think it was outdated as others have remarked on here. The pools and beach were perfect and well maintained. On site restaurants provided lots of food options. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. I can't think of anything negative to write. We've now stayed at the Hyatt, Westin, and Marriott. I would put the Hyatt and Marriott a very close 1-2. The Hyatt is maybe slightly more luxurious, but the space Marriott gives you is much better and reasonable for families. Can't wait to come back!
Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking your place. This web site will compare countless booking websites and usually will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in this area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't be let down.Family friendly and everything was super easy. We opted for the one bedroom suite and it was HUGE, especially compared to other places like the Hyatt. You get way more bang for your buck here. Staff works really hard to make the resort clean and running smoothly. Tip well! Walk to Whalers village, pool area is awesome and there’s tons of stuff for kids. Obviously resort dining is quite overpriced but convenient. If you want better food for cheaper I’d leave the resort area and bring it back. Free trolley will take you to Whalers or other resorts.
This was a great resort overall. It has everything you'd probably want or need with a family including games/activities, a great pool with a water slide, hot tubs, decent food, etc. The room was really great and the foldout bed was just as comfortable as a regular bed. Fitness center is also very good. There is a hospitality room with a shower for when you arrive early or leave late and need to freshen up or change. We had a great time here. The few things that would have made it a 5-star stay: 1 - It was a bit crowded at and in the pool and some days difficult to find chairs. 2 - The resort and the food are very expensive. You'll pay about $25 just for a sandwich here (not including sides). 3 - The beach, while a beautiful view, isn't really a swimmable beach. A very rocky bottom all the way up to the shoreline. You'll have to walk a ways up the beach to find a better spot in front of another resort.
Great Location to spend a week with the family! Easy access for shopping and restaurants and perfect flexibility for families. The kitchen amenities make it an ideal location for families who may want to relax at home rather than going out. It’s the best of both worlds. Just like everyone else says the parking is horrible. Be prepared to unload the family from the car before parking in the stalls. We brought floaty‘s to enjoy in the pool and had a lot of questions about where we got them from. Amazon and they’re super easy to pack! Also keep your screen doors closed in the condo because birds will fly in and take food off your kitchen table.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the Maui Ocean Club. We stayed in the Molokai tower with an incredible ocean view! The hotel is located right on the beach with a paved walking path that runs the length of Ka'anapali. It's a 9-minute walk going north to Whaler's Village where you can find great shops and restaurants. Just beyond that is Black Rock beach where there is a nightly cliff diver and great snorkeling. The big pool is lively and has a lot to offer visitors, including a waterslide. The other pool is very quiet and relaxing. There aren't many dining choices at the hotel, but the poolside cafe and Starbucks serve food all day. Molokai tower was converted to time share units from a standard hotel, so the rooms do not have cooktops or ovens. There is one communal oven on the lobby level. It's a big hassle to cook!
Great vacation spot. Super comfortable rooms right on the beach. Excellent pools and amenities.I wish they had included a full kitchen in the suites,.but the generous-sized fridge and plentiful grills are enough for you to cook great food on your own.
View from our patio attached to our ocean front studio room. You can walk directly out to one of the pools and beach. Very convenient but I am sure the upper floors view is a better ocean view. Room 1314 in the Napili tower. One bonus is having 2 personal lounge chairs...
Average time share. Has typical age wear of most resorts in Kaanapali. 1-balconies suck. Too small and view is blocked by handrail. 2- free parking- big plus. 3 great location 4-16$ for a cocktail by pool. Average for maui. 5- great staff. 6 pool is not resort pool friendly. Most chairs on the lawn. 80% I bet. 7 old style pool lost of choppy pools with heavy handed design.Nice week here. Probably pick different resort if we come back. Why I don’t own a time share. But great stay. Just a 4 star at best plus a curve more of a 3.5 on a good day.
