We had an unbelievable time at Hungry Coyote last Saturday. We were ther to Celebrate my Birthday and Angela the owner made it such a great time the service and Food were both fantastic. The Best Ceviche I have ever had. Everything we had was great and super fresh. There was live music plying. Deborah the Guitarist was playing and she stayed a hour longer for our group and she was wonderful. We are planning another visit back to Hungry Coyote befor our Vacation is over. Thank you Angela for making my Birthday so great. You guys were so great and accommodating for our group of 35 people. The Hungry Coyote ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

Amazing food! Some of the best Mexican veggie enchiladas I’ve ever had! It’s off the beaten path and not a typical tourist trap. It is local. If you’re looking for excellent food this is worth a visit!

I booked a reservation same day at Hungry Coyote. It was the only place in Lahaina I could make a reservation same day that wasn’t $$$$. I was surprised that to make reservation required a credit card and a $15 cancellation fee, but the food looked wonderful and it has high reviews. I wish I had read the written comments that reflected more my experience. The food was fine, but the menu had none of the delicious looking foods in the picture. It was very limited, basically enchiladas, tacos and burritos. When I booked the reservation they were plenty of times open all evening. Our day got away from us and I called to see if I could make it later. The manager rudely told me that they were fully booked until later that night, so we left the charming part of Lahaina and walked to a much less desirable location in a strip mall a few blocks away from Old Town. The air-conditioned restaurant was basically empty when we arrived. They seated us on the patio where it was somewhere between 80 and 90°. We asked to move inside and were told they had a big party of 20 coming and all the tables would be full and that we requested the patio. I certainly did not request the patio. Our table was the only one in direct sunlight. The other shaded tables remained empty for the duration of our meal and the table of 20 never seem to arrived. Inside appeared to have one maybe two tables seated. Service was slow, especially in the hot sun. There was a table for six behind us, and since we were four I assumed that is why they didn’t give us the shady table, but as we were getting ready to leave after over an hour, they finally seated a party of four at that table. The manager seem to notice we were miffed and brought us a complementary, very average, small basket of chips and salsa that on the menu were priced at $13.99! She also brought my kids two burritos instead of one since they were kind of small. She seemed to be making an effort but overall I would not recommend.

Owner was lovely. Food was ok. Service was mediocre. (Having said that, I think it is very difficult to find good help). Table next to us was on a FaceTime call our entire meal and made for an unpleasant atmosphere as the caller was very loud.

Wow! The food is delicious and the service superb! Hidden gem!

This is a twist on Mexican. I would not visit again, however, none of our plates even looked like what most reviewers posted pictures of! Maybe new chef? I would not reccommend, but would not discourage

Do not eat here. You’ve been warned.

I had high hopes for this place and was let down. It wasn’t bad but definitely not great. Our appetizers were really good. We had a larger size party and everyone was happy with the guacamole and ceviche. The waitress messed up multiple orders and had poor communication as to what the special was and what came with it and the kitchen was slow. Almost 1.5 hours to get our entrees. I’m not trying to hate, just being honest. For the price we paid we felt it wasn’t worth it.

Wonderful family owned restaurant in a dive location with astoundingly good Mexican food.

Loved the service. Owner was so attentive and wanted to make sure everything was great. Normally you'd have to pay a fortune to have the owners attention and that degree of care and service. The food was incredible and the drinks were too. Bring a bottle of your favorite tequila and let them make you your favorite margaritas 🍹
