Nice place to eat over looking the ocean. We had the avocado poke for an appetizer and fish tacos for dinner. Both dishes were amazing. The Mai Tai’s were good and strong. The kids had the grill cheese with fries. The fries are awesome. Eric was our waiter who made our dining experience even better. Eric constantly came to our table asking how the food was and if we needed more drinks, he also interacted with our kids which is always great to see.
My wife and I stayed at the Aston Maui a Kannapali Villas hotel that The Castaway is a part of. We ate here all 4 nights of our stay. Rebecca the lovely hostess looked after us every night by giving us a table outside to enjoy the magnificent view. Sure I’ve eaten in better 5 star restaurants around the world and the food is a pretty basic menu to comparison to others around the area but it has lovely tasty food , great views and very friendly staff at a very reasonable price for Maui. Thank you Rebecca and all the staff for looking after myself and my wife during our stay.
Gorgeous locale and down to earth in the midst of stuffier resort restaurants. The food was superb and the sunset view was excellent. The service was wonderful. We will be back!
Been here thrice … and I personally think this place is underrated !!Yes, some of the staff can be a little rude sometimes ( especially the old lady at the reception , but she is like that with other staff as well, so that evens it out ), but others are sweet like a sugarcane like Tracy and Noah !Food is well priced, cocktails are pretty amazing highly recommended their mimosa with guava juice !The portions are single serving and not huge plates like other place but everything is so well cooked and tastes fresh !Ambience is pretty laid back and great place to do visit any time .Kudos !!
Good food, restaurant was busy especially for being an early Tuesday. I can only imagine how pact this gets when the island is at full capacity. Eggs Benedict was a great choice and my kids loved the pancakes!
Showed up for breakfast and was in line about 20 minutes before opening. By the time they opened there was a line of over 50 people in line already, this is the place to be for breakfast. Everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was tasty. Make sure to stop by here for dinner when they are playing live music as well.
Love this place. Went a few years ago and had to return. Casual. Literally on the sand. Great margaritas. Yummy seafood. Perfect.
We visited this cafe for breakfast. The lady who greeted us was lovely, we waited a short time for our table. We ordered the fruit bowl with yoghurt and granola but were told there was no yoghurt. Our server was very abrupt. I asked for milk instead, she seemed to think this was an odd request. I asked for a jug of milk in place of yoghurt, was told they don’t have jugs there. We waited ages for our breakfast, we were not given spoons to eat with. The price we paid for the fruit was extortionate and the waitress’s attitude was rude. Despite the lovely location, we won’t be going back!
This place was so pretty! The service was fast, my party got there just after opening and we got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. I got the aloha pancakes and they were delicious! The menu is a little small for breakfast but definitely still quality. This is a good little spot right by the beach worth a spot for a good (and affordable) breakfast!
We are staying at the hotel on site so we walked to the Castaway cafe at 730pm and asked if we could order to go. (They close at 8pm plus we wanted to eat it in our room) The lady at the front desk was very nice. She took our order which was the Loco mock and the cheeseburger. I asked for two cups of ice since we had drinks in the room. We didn’t have to wait long at all and the food was hot. My husband liked the Loco Moco and the burger was perfect and the fries were crispy! Definitely would eat there again!
