This place is awesome!! They were so nice and took us in towards the end of the night. The ramen broth was super flavorful and huge! I had a kimchi udon that was superbly flavored with good spice. The katsu curry was also wonderful! Overall a great experience I highly recommend!
We had a lovely dinner here last night with our two teenage daughters. Lots of menu options with something for everyone. The garlic shrimp were delicious, as was the ono special, the potstickers, and pasta. The servers were delightful. I called at 6:30 and was able to get a table at 8:00 that night. I'm glad I called ahead because there were several people waiting for tables when we arrived. This one is well worth your time and will be easier on your credit card than a lot of the places around if you're staying in Wailea.
The Tonkatsu ramen was very delicious and satisfying. El dente noodles, rich broth and tender char sui pork. Slightly salty, so didn't drink the broth. Added delicious won tons and they were excellent. Great friendly service, kitchen pace was leisurely. Will definitely return to try other menu items.
If snorkeling in the Molokini Crater is a must, so is eating at Tanpopo when in Maui. The sake, appetizers, mains and service. Pick anything from Ramen to pastas, it's a five star.
we went there for dinner on Sat night, about half of the tables are full, that means half are empty, so we no need to wait and can get a table once we arrived at around 6pm. Actually through out the whole night, there are several empty tables, but there are quite a number of people drive-through to buy food. We ordered the Signature Tonkotsu Ramen, the soup is tasty, rich in pork taste, but not salty, we ordered a sashimi combo (which has 4 pieces of 4 different fish), I think the quality is up to standard, but the miso soup is a bit too concentrated. We also ordered Takoyaki (the taste is average), ordered spider roll (but can't feel any soft crab inside, this one seems below standard) and ordered Le Japon roll (it's ok). I think overall is the Tonkotsu Ramen makes this restaurant more special, for the other dishes, I think they are similar to other restaurants. By the way, the service is ok.
Such a good ramen!! Came twice before leaving and always had a great experience!
This is a hard review to write...Kono and his crew make awesome food and provide great service. Being a former expat in Japan with Japanese family I know great Japanese food. This is great Japanese food.The difficulty comes from not wanting this place to get so busy I can't get a table.So the summary is eat here...but if I come in, please let me sit at your table if they are full.
My wife and I recently had a delicious dinner at Tanpopo. I ordered the Potstickers and Chicken Katsu Curry Udon. The potstickers were fantastic appetizers. These crisp dumplings were filled with tender pork and paired with flavorful soy and chili sauces. The Chicken Katsu Curry Udon was one of the restaurant’s daily specials and it sounded too delicious not to order it. Tender chicken with crisp breading sat on a bed of soft savory udon noodles covered in a light creamy curry sauce with juicy tender onions.
If I could give this place a 6/5 stars I would! The couple that runs the restaurant are super nice. The food was excellent, every dish was so delicious! A must visit when in Maui.
Food didn’t disappoint. Service is top notch.
