Would go back just for the mochiko chicken. Breaded and fried to perfection, the marinade tastes like a sweet soy sauce mixture. So good, and generous portions. We also had the fried spam musubi, which was good, but my only complaint is the spam is sliced too thinly. Fish tacos are good, and my friend really liked the fish sandwich. Free parking available outside, but you have to travel pretty far to the restroom located upstairs in a different part of the building.

We're always searching for great mixed plates and this place is the best we've ever found. We love the mochiko chicken especially, and the sumo plate was a great way to get it. Extremely fresh, crispy, well cooked rice and meats - their gravy is amazing. Very fast and friendly service as well! You will not regret stopping in, and we'll certainly be back.

Fantastic food, staff was great and everything was awesome! Will definitely hit this spot again!

This place is awesome! We came here for a late dinner. The atmosphere is very chill and laid back. The staff was extremely friendly. The food is delicious and the portions are enormous. I got the Sumo plate, and there was well over a pound of roast pork, and a large pile of mochiko chicken which was perfectly fried and tasty. It also came with two huge scoops of rice and mac salad.

Southshore Grindz left a 5+ star impression. Their food is AMAZING I ordered the Spam musubi and chicken Katsu. Huge portions beware! But the BEST part was their service. Over the top friendly crew checking in 2-3 times throughout and offering anything else we wanted. At the end the owner stopped us and gave my daughter stickers and a popsicle. That was just the icing over the top. Really impressed with their kitchen and service. Will be returning regularly ?‍♂️?

Ordered the loco moco and blackened mahi. Food was great, came in generous portions, and served very quickly. Service was good as well.Fish could’ve been just a touch more seasoned and loco moco could’ve had a bit more patty to have a more balanced meat:rice ratio. Overall one of the better places for decent Hawaiian cuisine in Kihei (my friend had the mochiko chicken and couldn’t stop raving about it).

best food and energy ever luv this place

Charlie and Carrie are awesome, make you feel very welcome, food and drinks are great and very reasonably priced, and we loved the BYOB option. Thanks Charlie! Nice meeting you at Tiki as well!

Easy five star review. Super friendly staff, pretty speedy service (food made in <15 min), very tasty food, and they are BYOB (with a liquor store next door).Through several trips I tried the fried spam musubi (favorite item on their menu, and bigger than most other musubis I've had), southshore panini (was good, not exceptional), chicken katsu (very good), teriyaki beef, and truffle fries (interesting hint of sweetness...).The prices are fair (for Kihei) and portions are pretty healthy. A plate lunch is certainly enough food for anyone, and trying to split a musubi on top of that was giving me Thanksgiving flashbacks.

Fantastic food. Whether you eat in or takeout, they've got great options. Had the Mochiko Chicken and Katsu Chicken. I'd tip my hat to the Mochiko, but both were delicious. Don't let its location in a strip mall fool you. It's worth a trip to grab some food here at a good price.
